If you like Muzai Moratorium, then AriaTomi isn't THAT far out from it. It took a while for me to warm to it.

And I hate soppy jpop ballads, but again, Shiina Ringo's voice turns a soppy jpop ballad into something more entertaining. I even like Gips now for that reason.

It reminds me more of Bonnie Pink than Shiina Ringo.

Blasphemy!

Wait, makes sense. The "aah-aah-aaah" background vocals part, the generic-but-with-substance overall feeling, the repetitive chorus is something Bonnie would do and it even has a proper Bonnie-trademarked vocal bridge.
I never thought of Bonnie before you mentioned her, tho.

I honestly think the PV doesnt even neeed ringo a bit!
And I just love the whole concept now.
The song isn't anything that I would love the most out of her disco but it sure.. ok i just love how the pv and the song complete each other.

the fact that we went from writing this off as a mere drama commissioned one-off to talking about how it fits in with MM and the rest of her work says a lot. this song definitely defied expectations.

When you finally throw out the window the things you're attached to but which have only brought misery -- like, say, Tokyo Jihen -- they will explode into dust and jewels will rain down upon your life!

I also wish SR would throw Ukigumo and Saito Neko away.

you are not alone in thinking that!

the song was playing in my mind when i was driving to work and it was Bonnie Pink's voice doing the song.

Ringo could have gave this song to BP, her new album is coming this month. but BP is a singer-songwriter too and not a puppet pop act, so it wouldnt work out.

Quite disappointing, and the MM comparison (which makes sense) is depressing in that it makes me think that SR has, at least with this single, regressed rather than progressed. Two thumbs down, but I look forward to the rest of the album!

justriiingo, you just gave me a hilariously awesome mental image of Ringo pushing Ukigumo and Saito Neko out a window and the video being them falling in slow motion.
