Maybe I don't know the fandom at large as I once did, but I don't think thats true at all. If she followed up with something interesting, earnest, or honest, I think the forum would respond.
I don't particularly mind the work-behind-the-scenes, or lack there-of, era we're currently in. TBH, running the nostalgia clock a bit is probably well enough.

This time will be known as 'The Long Night of Ringo'. Spring will arrive with a new record in 2025.

Can she really keep up this pace for another 7 years? The candle that burns twice as bright and all that...

Seiko seems the excitable type who will never run out of creativity. I expect another 5 albums, minimum! All these years and while we have had a dud or two single songs, every album had delivered in a different way from the previous. Who was really expecting a "7:77" back in the Pink days?! Better still, who was expecting it to be the best album on the record which isn't exactly full of filler!
Her ability to keep you surprised is unmatched. |

I would have loved to have seen Ringos early days if social media was around. Wonder if she would been as cold and fan oblivious as she seems now.
Seikos great cause she feels like she genuinely cares about it all.

I've tried to reconcile the whole Oomori phenomenon in my head, but I just can't. By and large I can't stand her, from her songwriting to her guitar technique to especially her singing voice. I've bought most of her major albums, each time hoping that it will be the one where it all clicks and suddenly I get it, but each time I just get more confused as to why she's so popular. Maybe I'm just too old.
On the other hand I am also forced to acknowledge that she is one of the more important Japanese artists out there today, and she is influencing a generation of new acts, just as Ringo did. She *has* done a few songs that I've actually liked (e.g. Handmade Home). And whatever it is that she's doing, she's working at a fevered pace, while still consistently exceeding fans' expectations. So I guess on balance my attitude toward Oomori is...grudging respect?
