Kameda Seiji + Do As Infinity
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed something interesting today.
I got out my TRUE SONG album by Do As Infinity and was looking at the booklet when I saw that all tracks were produced and arranged by Kameda Seiji. He also was the bassist for that whole album. So, then I went to look at my other DAI cd, Do the A Side, and I noticed the same thing where Kameda produced and arranged all tracks except two. I don't have any other DAI cds, but I saw that YUKI + Kameda thread kuroneko posted and thought this would be interesting. (: If you haven't heard DAI, then you should. They were one of the first groups I listened to, thanks to kazaa a million years ago. The composer of DAI, or Dai Nagao(I think?) also writes a lot of songs with Ayumi Hamasaki. I actually think Ayumi's best songs are the ones composed with DAI. Tomoko Van's voice is pretty, but it can take some getting used to. The band has since split up, but that doesn't mean they aren't good anymore, right? Good songs: Raven I can't be myself Week! Rakuen um... I don't remember. Just search for them on youtube and watch a few videos if you are interested.

Mentioned and knewd long time.
But neverthless yes, Seiji has been the producer for most of the big time names in Japan icluding DAI. He is been producing even for Ken Hirai "as Oscar Wilde once remarked "Oooooooh!" Last edited by benkai ringo : 2007.09.03 at 03:24 PM. Reason: What's the point of Editing? duh... |

Yeah well, producing isn't the only thing Kameda has done with Hirai Ken...

Well, the true song album is all really good, but I guess you could always try some of the songs from the a side best collection.
Personally, I like Raven, Shinjitsu no Uta, Kuso Ryodan, Wadachi and I Can't Be Myself. These are mostly on True Song, except for Raven. But, there are a lot of good songs by DAI.

Ah, I've wanted to try them out too, especially when I found out Kameda worked with them. How many albums have they released? @_@
You can check out all his works at his site! I found out that he's been working with Angelina Aki and Chara recently. He's also worked with Yano Maki, one of my favorite artists ever! >_< <3

I tried out their (best of?) album, Do the Best, and I like their sound, although the vocalist doesn't sound that special to me. I think she kind of sounds like Amuro Namie. "Fukai Mori" and "Week!" are okay songs, but I really like "Heart" the best!

im really sorry for bumping this old thread but as a hard DAI fan I could not NOT reply to this :3
seiji kameda arranged all DAI songs eccept for the tracks on Tangerine Dream single (Tangerine Dream, Wings, Faces and Simple Minds), Heart single (Heart and Sariyuku yuube) -those were their first 2 singles- and We are. song (they were in Taiwan at that time, I think thats the reason Kameda didnt arrange it). He also did bass for most of the songs on studio he arranged the songs with the band, specially Ryo Owatari (the lead guitarrist) and help to produce and there was a rumour he dated Tomiko for some time before becoming gay LOL @badtzamaru: they released 6 album studios, 3 live albums, 1 instrumental, 2 bests, 1 bside compilation, 1 aside compilation and one special box with all their albums plus a documentary dvd .. my favorite studio album of them is GATES OF HEAVEN, try it out sorry for the freakness Last edited by Yahiko : 2008.02.07 at 11:03 AM. |
