The Kick Inside-Kate Bush (entire album)
perhaps, dare I say, one of the greatest albums ever made? Seriously, Kate Bush, we are not worthy. You only see artists like Kate Bush or Bjork a few times in a lifetime, it is too bad she doesn't feel compelled to release more work. |

They're awesome! Their lead singer is an absolutely fantastic lyricist. He lives about 10 minutes away from me too.

Yeah, the guy sounds great, voice and lyrics. I picked up their Best Of called A Life of Surprises and every track sounded awesome. One of them I actually heard a lot before (it plays on the radio), "Cars and Girls", but didn't know the name of the band. That song is great I picked the second album now, Steve McQueen, and will listen to it later (I'm on a Will & Grace addiction atm). They don't have much Prefab Sprout stuff at Warez-BB, but I'll check for torrents. I'm hoping to find at least the A Life of Surprises CD at some store here, since I guess they must have been popular in Portugal at some point in time (80s or something). Btw, I'm checking other scottish/uk pop bands from the 80s, like Deacon Blue, Aztec Camera and China Crisis. I suppose you know them as well. From those 3 I only heard a Deacon Blue best of so far, and it didn't please me as much as Prefab Sprout. But I gotta give it some more tries. |

Have you heard much of The Smiths? Not really the same genre, but Morrissey has just as distinct lyrics and voice and they created fantastic 80's indie-pop song.

White Stripes - Elephant
I saw the record at a store today and struggled for 30 mins on whether or not I should purchase it...it was expensive and I'm not swimming in dough...but I charged it anyways. I'm gonna convert the vinyl to WAV and then to FLAC. Ball and Biscuit is gonna be heaven.
