Shinji, if you go from Fu Zao upwards, that's in 1996, it leaves you with 7 studio albums, none of which I'd call bad, but I've listed my 3 favorites.
Apparently she has a truckload of compilations you can just ignore. And I don't listen to her old stuff from the early 90's. Basically for me it begins in 1994 when she started covering Cocteau Twins and copying Bjork in a music video when you filter it out it isn't that huge anymore, but I agree it might get confusing if you're new to her. |

What I hate about Chinese artists is that I never know if I'm tagging their tracks well... I can read Japanese more or less, but Chinese is too difficult for me. Thus, I try to get 'official' translations for the tracks, but that gives me headaches! For example, in the 'Fable' album, every track has like 3 or 4 translations which seem to be official x__x.
The Cambrian Age -> The Cambrian Period New Roommate -> The New Tenant Asura -> Asuro The Flower From The Other Shore -> Flower of Heaven -> The Flower of Paradise et cetera... ugh T_T. |

Yes, that's confusing, and why I resorted to just having the tracks in Chinese (in Chinese characters).
You see, a character has a meaning, but if I should take it from Japanese, it doesn't have to mean an exact WORD, hence many translations, but the meaning is really the same, like "The Cambrian Age" is the same thing as "The Cambrian Period". Anyway go with "Asura" because that is Buddhist terminology, it's a malevolent spirit, and "Flower from the other shore" is again taken from Buddhism because "the other shore" is "euphemism for Faramita, or paradise" as my song transcriptions say. |
