It is a simple riff or whatnot, but it reminds me sooo much of Koufukuron. Listening to:
I didn't like this song much, but then the lyrics opened me up to the whole my graduation/secret base/Tadashii Machi nostalgia and hometown cultural references of it all. Now it's one of my favorites by her. I love her. Last edited by mizer_unmei : 2010.04.03 at 05:05 AM. |

Miramar
Promising new bolero project (though covering old material):
http://www.myspace.com/miramarrva I realize the bolero isn't wildly popular at the moment, but I love it. Yeah, I can see how some would find it a bit of a musical straight jacket, but the number of great songs that have built on top of that basic framework is enormous. (Incidentally, when I first saw that Ella youtube clip upthread, I thought she was holding a glass of milk. Is it live, Memorex or a glass of milk?) |

Omgoodness, this makes me sooo nostalgic. I listened to her constantly Spring of 2004-or so. Which was 6 years ago. Last edited by mizer_unmei : 2010.04.06 at 01:14 AM. |

Humbert Humbert
I love this band recently. The story is partly Ringo related. My wife took me to a live last Sunday. It was great, there were 5-6 bands, of which we only saw the first four. The venue was the venue in Hibiya park (edit: the venue's name is officially 日比谷公園大音楽堂 ("the big music hall in Hibiya park"...)), but all Ringo fans know it as the venue where Ringo performed "Sweet love shower 99" a heck load of years ago. I think I watched that live performance on my old avis a bit too much, because even though it was my first time at the venue, it felt really familiar. Sure, I've seen lives from other artists there as well, like Chatmonchy etc. The first reason we went to the live was to see "Ann Sally". Quite an interesting Korean/Japanese lady. But then we also saw Humbert Humbert and I was hooked immediately. I have to catch up on their albums... Last edited by Jonny : 2010.04.07 at 12:19 AM. |
