EDIT: A Tale of Two Sisters is great, too! I'd wager you have more than enough recommendations of great movies at this point.

Yeah, from those I've seen I agree. I'll also add 'Survive Style 5+', 'Kamikaze Girl' and make sure you watch 'A Tale of Two Sisters' with surround sound. It literally makes the movie thrice as scary. '3-Iron' is lovely, and 'Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter And Spring' (May be named differently in America) is brilliant too.

My Sassy Girl is wayyyyyyyy overrated. It's one of those trying too hard to be cute and quirky type of movies that degenerates into something very tacky towards the end. (The same can be said of any movie that uses Canon in D as a theme song.)
3-iron is a superb movie, perhaps Kim Ki-duk's best. Spring, Summer, Autumn Winter and Spring again is another beauty. That floating temple is surreal. Samaritan Girl is just weird and depressing. But the most depressing of all Kim Ki-duk movies has got to be Address Unknown. It's set in a small Korean town next to a US Army camp. That movie is just so... devoid of hope. Really really depressing. And oh Maou, watch Eat Drink Man Woman if you haven't already! That is one of my all time favourite movies! Chinese food never looked better on screen If you're in the mood for some oldie HK romantic dramas, C'est la vie, mon cherie is quite near perfect.

Oh shit, I forgot Chunking Express. Watch it! And 'In The Mood For Love' while your at it.
And 'All About Lily Chou-Chou'. And if you're looking for some messed up Takashi Miike (Or Kashmir Mike as Firefox Dictionary would want you to believe) stuff, Visitor Q, Audition and Ichi The Killer. Anybody seen Ferro 3? How does it rate against Kim Ki-duk's other movies? And how is this movie? I like the poster:

THANK YOU. I saw nothing spectacular about My Sassy Girl. It was in fact super boring to me, and halfway through I had to force myself to sit through the rest of it. And the main girl drove me absolutely crazy. There is nothing omg super fantastic about it. So glad someone agrees with me.

So the dudes like My Sassy Girl while the ladies don't. Interesting.

My Sassy Girl was a super commercial film in Korea and was also more appreciated by dudes. Alot has to do with the lead actress "Jun Ji Hyun" who is like a Big-time commercial star in Korea, everywhere you look, you see her on a commercial or an ad, she's literally everywhere.

I somewhat agree with the ladies here, that My Sassy Girl is overrated, but I don't think it should be avoided. It's one of those things you have to see once, even if never a second or third time. If I were in the main guy's position (within the storyline), I'd let her walk all over me for awhile just like that guy, because I can block out the stress much better than he can, and when the topic comes up of dating or officially being boyfriend/girlfriend, I'd be like "Nope, sorry. I don't see any security in that. So for the sake of humanity, I'll step aside for the men who'd do anything to bang you, whether or not they'd succeed. Maybe if we remain friends and you continue to vent all your frustrations upon me instead of the rest of the world, other guys would actually have more of a chance with you than if I were never born at all. I hope you have beautiful children and that they're emotionally at least half of what their father is". If I found someone like her, I'd seriously do that, even if it "wastes" at least one season of my time.
