Do you like Ringo singing with a loudspeaker
Personally I really want to hear her singing OSCA without the loudspeaker, plus it blocks most of her face.
Also, please explain the appeal of the loudspeaker to you! Last edited by Inseu : 2012.10.14 at 08:47 PM. |

I see it as one of her more creative instruments that I wish she'd use less. It's part of her schtick, more power to her...but I can only take 1 or 2 songs on it.

I think it worked perfectly on Atarashii Bunmei-Kaika. I didn't expect that since the original recording didn't have any distortion effect at all, but it helped the live performance to be more all over the place.
Same story with OSCA. I use(d) to enjoy that song but then I got exhausted of it on lives, and I think the loudspeaker has a lot to do with that. By the way, what I really wanted/want to hear more from her, is the melodica. She was great at it. |

I love it in some songs like OSCA and Service but I would prefer to hear Atrashii Bunmei without it, it's fine for certain parts but using it on the whole song is quite irritating. but I don't think OSCA would work without a megaphone, I see it as an integral part of the song

I've never been to a Ringo show in person, but I'm assuming that the real appeal of the loudspeaker comes from actually hearing it in person. I'd bet that it comes across a lot more personal when you can literally hear her voice coming from it. Less mechanical than a microphone. Also I loved it during Koufukuron, Ringo Expo '08.
