Yeezus? Pleezus.
Killer Mike and El-P follow up to last year's mega collab on RAP Music, Run the Jewels quickly proves to be among the top hip-hop picks of 2013.

I feel I am finally ready for this band. The more I listen to "Stands" the more mind blown I am, truly amazing progressive rock. No wonder it's considered a 'masterpiece'. Went whole hog and purchased their boxset "PAST FUTURE ANIMATORS STAND ON GAIA", featuring expanded versions of their 3 albums Past Future Animators, Stands and Gaia. Also has a track featuring Jun Togawa that I cannot obtain anywhere else and a live DVD. Any Metrofarce fans here?

I really am trying to find a nice thing to say about this, I want to enjoy it, but it's really just not that good. Another band that had their moment, and most likely should not attempt new material (though their live shows are still kick ass), this song I imagine will be forgotten alongside the new Soundgarden, MBV, Alice in Chains and Smashing Pumpkins releases. Saddening.

Never ever has the new MBV been lumped with new Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, or Smashing Pumpkins nor does it deserve to be.
"Bagboy" is okay. I can think of a few nice things to say: The song settles in to a really crunchy, nasty groove and Black Francis' voice hasn't aged in twenty years.

In addition to saying some really mean things about Tokyo Jihen yesterday, I started to listen to R.E.M.'s discography with Murmur and Reckoning. R.E.M. was a band I inexplicably never made an effort towards, despite that I liked every song I heard and were well in my comfort zone. Looking forward to moving on through their discography.
In recommendation-land (I hope you liek 90's edition): Hole, Breeders? Then:
So nasty and gross and gnarly. Tres excited to hear their LP. How about a sick 90's-inspired Velvet Underground? (slightly disturbing video)
