I don't love it but it's not bad. The video reminds me of being on Small World at Disney. Good for an insurance commercial jingle.

Also agree that hearing this kind of typical ringo song with a new voice is refreshing. Honestly glad she didn't sing it.

But SHE DID.

You can *just* hear her at about 7 seconds on this, I assume instructing the other girl/giving a demonstration (you can't see her though, at least I didn't notice)

Insurance Bullshit

That sounded like a recording, I don't think she was there.

I kinda liked it, actually. Although I agree that it seems a little fresher for having a different voice to sing it.

I could totally see Ringo using a purely instrumental version of this during a live performance - maybe as an opening to another song, or as an interlude.

The woman singing sounds like she has had actual voice/theater training. She may actually be one of the best vocalists Ringo has written for. I may have to look up other recordings of her... As for the song: meh. It's not being touted as anything other than a jingle though, so it's whatever.

also, ITT: people forgetting Ringo recorded a cover of the Hitachi theme song on her demo tapes back when she had "rock cred"

The girl is Mitsuki Takahata but I'm not sure she's also the one singing, I've listened to a few samples from her upcoming album but the songs are so generic I can't actually tell if she's a good singer or if that's the same voice.

Not sure how I missed this before, but in addition to music written by Shiina Ringo, the commercial/video was produced by Kodama Yuichi (i.e. Ringo's SO).

Totally random thought: Those sailor suits the kids in the background are wearing really remind me of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.

Fairly pleasant filler. Looking forward to some chill break time with this song during an EXPO-ish performance while Ringo shuffles off stage, though if she actually sings it over a MANGARAMA arrangement and brings a Souretsu-style kid choir with her I wouldn't complain either. (Bonus points if she rocks Ghostbusters gear and the kids are tiny Stay Pufts. Thanks for the image zeroryouko.)

Liked the vocalist. "Obaachan DJ" as a lyric seemed pretty forced just for the sake of a Sumirock cameo, but I still smiled when I heard it. Otherwise, I can take or leave the song.
