Humming means humming, and whistling means whistling, but why is there no word meaning to go "der der der ner der der" along with a tune? It's something everyone does and yet there's no word for it?

Simple. I can't spell in humming.

Looks like the 2nd episode of the show has a different arrangement and/or different part of the song. I like this one quite a bit better.

Is this a mini-series? There might be a different part of the song for each episode and the actual single probably will sound different than any of the individual excerpts that they use for the title sequences.

Nope, they just used a different part of the song (probably the beginning of the song?), as the lyrics from 00:18 to 00:44 are different. The rest of the intro should be exactly the same as the first one (until the first "chorus").

Thanks a lot for posting the link, btw

Yeah, I just figured that out as well (tonight's the first time I've heard any part of the song). I do think it flows a lot better with that section added in.

Considering that the TV show that this was commissioned for airs in in the morning on public TV and is a "family drama" about a fashion designer's life, I'm not sure what people were expecting. It clearly wasn't going to be anything radical knowing that background.

Good point. Maybe Ringo is playing safe?
