Default Melody's Echo Chamber

Any Melody's Echo Chamber fans here? Her new album Bon Voyage is one of the most challenging, ambitious records of the year. At 7 tracks it seems like a simple EP, but it's overflowing with ambitious choices (such as singing in English, French, and Swedish) and structural experimentation. Comparisons to KZK on this forum are well-trodden, but that album really shares the kind of singular vision that Melody has here. Where some of the songs on her debut could be seen as Tame Impala-lite, she really finds her own voice with BV.

Definitely recommend a listen:

I enjoyed their debut, but didn't think they were going to offer much more than that. I'll check this out. I had no idea.

You weren't the only one... it was kind of in album purgatory after she broke up with Kevin Parker, was fucked over by one record label and suffered an aneurysm last year. Thanking the music gods she persisted!

Some of her obvious influences like Broadcast and Stereolab you can still hear on this album, although like I said this definitely sounds she's come more into her own. If anyone is a fan of Dungen and The Amazing (her collaborators on this album) I'd also recommend.

Do they put anything decent these days in a jewel case? Always the digipak shit, I don't feel like buying digipak...
