What's the difference between the regular and the limited edition, since it seems both were on sale?
|
I could have sworn this single was titled "STEM ~Daimyou Asobi hen~".
Also, kind of a dissapointing single...only one "new" song, and it was just a remix. I'm sure I'll end up buying it anyway... |
It is titled (pronounced, rather) "Stem." I corrected it. (These threads look like I made them, but they were edited by someone else... XD)
And, remix, what are you talking about? Both Meisai and Ishiki are different versions from the versions that appear on the album (but not remixes!) and Stem is sung in English but with the same/slightly different melody. It's not a great single, but it's fairly good, and I'd never call a different version a remix! |
How are Meisai and Ishiki different (except for the fuzz at the beginning and the end)? And no, Stem isn't technically a remix...but the instrumentation is very different (and the lyrics, like you said, are in English), so it's really as close to a remix as SR gets (with the exception of maybe the HF version of Yokushitsu, which still follows the exact same song structure, just with different instrumentation and lyrics, much like Stem did here). I suppose 'remix' is the wrong word, but you know what I mean...

you have it nee?! I want to know too |
I haven't been able to find a so-called "limited edition". I mean, I've seen product listings on CDJapan and YesAsia SAYING that there is such a thing. I've looked through tens of thousands of Ringo auctions (not specifically for Stem) and for all I know I could have seen the limited edition and not have even known it, because if there is a difference, it's subtle.
I've also never seen a difference for Ringo no Uta. Supposedly the first-press has Mole packaging while the regular doesn't, but all I have EVER seen is what appears to be the Mole packaging. |
I believe the "limited edition" version of this single is an enhanced CD with a data track containing some videos while the normal edition is simply a plain audio cd. I'm don't know how the two differ in appearance though.. edit: Correction. The normal edition does have a data track..but it only contains a player for the crappy (and shitty) Copy Control scheme present on the disc.

I have the LE version. It has a different TOCT number than the normal version.
all you're missing out on are some behind the scenes clips of the making of the Hyakyiro Megane movie. Its really boring footage. This single itself is bummer. None of the b-sides are new material if you already have KSK. I think thats the reason toshiba stopped pressing it. |
well, they were new tracks at the time of the single. And they're still slightly diff versions than what appears on KZK, so even for me that warrants their inclusion upon my mp3 player
|
Meisai and Ishiki have a somber feeling to them. Its a nice contrast to the jumpier album version as if she's singing in her apartment on a rainy evening.
|
ShadyNook, would you happen to know what each of the TOCT numbers are?
Both of my copies are TOCT-4450. I wasn't even looking out for specifically the Limited edition, when I bought them. |
hey, Glath. You have 2 copies of the LE version. :)
The catalog code for the normal version is TOCT-4554 http://www.emimusic.jp/vmc/artist/do...o/toct4554.php http://www.emimusic.jp/vmc/artist/do...o/toct4450.php |
Is it becoming rare or what?
A limited edition used copy got sold on Ebay for 38$US!!! |
Wow.
I had no idea it was that high in demand. After having seen the CD-Extra content, I wouldn't say the latest going rate is worth it, unless you're like this batshit crazy collector who thinks they need to have absolutely everything. *cough* In other news, CDJapan says that KYNK is out-of-print. They previously misreported Sweets for my SPITZ, but it would actually make more sense if KYNK were truly discontinued. If you think long and hard about it, this Stem CD introduces no completely exclusive songs - everything on Stem is also on KSK, though in different versions. The Stem single had closer association than the album, with the movie. Then you have the KYNK single introducing no completely exclusive songs - all three songs can be had on HF, though in different versions. And the KYNK single seems to have closer association than the album, with the Sakuran movie. So if Stem ended up going out-of-print, then it's not unbelievable for KYNK to suffer the same fate. At least they didn't have multiple releases of KYNK - that would make things even more of a mess for the newbie collector. HMV Japan still has KYNK "In Stock" because they're a much larger business than CDJapan, and can keep larger stock to begin with, but I'm not sure how long their supply will last. |
Mine has the TOCT-4450 number aswell! though the bonus footage is not exactly amazing.. I got mine pretty late (from Amazon) so you can probaly still get a L.E if you buy there ?

Are there really three u's in Boufuuu?

Yeah, it was ridiculous when I realized that. It's like another word, yuuutsu--do there really NEED to be that many u's? Yes, apparently.
|
Hahaha at first I thought it was a typo or something like that, but now I think it's kind of funny haha. Boufuuuuuuuu~
|
Alright, folks.
Watch out. It looks like Stem is going out-of-print again. If the only reason they brought it back was to offer a non-protected version, then I'm not expecting anymore reissues. Unless you already bought a MoRA box or this single, then this is probably your last chance to get the A-side. |
