Gosh, I tought luxembourg wasn't so famous ah ah ah
yep it's a little country, it's between france, germany and belgium

take a look ahahaha

Glathannus 2007.06.17 02:33 AM

I've been to Luxembourg when I was young.

I wouldn't mind retiring there one day. It's so... elitist.
I don't understand why ever since the EU has been established, why so many people from the developing nations are all tunnelvisioned into the idea of migrating to the UK. But whatever. That's their loss. Underrated things (such as Luxembourg citizenship) are awesome because you don't have to deal with much competition if & when there's a limited quota/supply.

Unfortunately we don't all talk like that, but for the moment I'll pretend we do because that smiley is rather charming.

Tokyo Jihad 2007.07.06 04:10 PM

I know.

However, when I was little I did speak with an english accent presumably because thats where all the cartoons i'd watch came from

Inaudible-Whisper 2007.07.06 04:40 PM

You probably had more of an 'English' accent then than I do now. I say English meaning the stereotypical English most of the world seems to think we speak. I'm from up North, so I sound like... god knows what.

we need an accent showdown. who has the strongest...apparently, i sound like i'm from north jersey...think sopranos. i dont think so.

welcome to the lampshade. are your ships are belong to us.

Inaudible-Whisper 2007.07.09 06:27 AM

I have no doubt I'll have one of the strongest accents of native-English speakers. Even people in England often have trouble understanding Geordies (People from Newcastle). There's a popular Geordie character in our excellent show Alan Partridge that might give you an idea, though my accent isn't quite as thick because I'm not in the city centre:

Geordie on Alan Partridge

frecklegirl 2007.07.11 06:56 PM

Ahahaha. It sounds Scottish! (no wonder, as Newcastle seems fairly close to the Scottish border)

Inaudible-Whisper 2007.07.12 08:42 AM

Yes, people do sometimes confuse it with Scottish :P

Appeltje 2007.08.02 10:56 AM

Hey everyone,

I'm from Holland, and I just discovered this forum a couple of days ago, and was pleasently surprised that there are so many people all over the world that like Shena's music!

I've been a fan since 2000, when a Japanese guy studying at my University (I studied Japanese as a major) gave me a copy of Muzai Moriatorum and I was hooked.
I l listened to that album until the CD had so many scratches on it it skipped all the time :). In the mean time it also taught me lot of interesting Japanese words :)
After that I bought every new album whenever I was in Japan and loved it. It's about the only decent music I have found in Japan so far, apart from some punk/ska bands (Super Butter Dog is great!!).
I like translating Shena's lyrics into English. I have a couple finished but want to do the whole Muzai Moriatorum. Ganbarimasu!
Right now I'm stuck on Tsumiki. I hate that annoying "Aisai Bo jackson fujin" bit

Anyway, I might be heading to Tokyo next year and work there for a few years, so I can't wait to check out all those places in Shena's songs; Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ochanomizu...Iwanna see that morning on Yamate-douri:)

Inaudible-Whisper 2007.08.02 11:02 AM

Welcome Appeltje :) maybe Frecklegirls site can help with translations and such.

Thanks inaudible whisper:) Frecklegirls' site is brilliant, I learned a lot of new things. It's funny how translations can be so different, you experience a song differently after reading someone elses' translation. It gives a whole new meaning to it.
I've just rummaged around the forum so far and done a few poles, but the forum looks fun so I think I'll be hanging out here for a while:)

fluffiethesock 2007.08.02 12:44 PM

Welcome, Mr. Appeltje! It's good to see new members who continue posting. ;)

Can you please explain to me why Holland/The Netherlands has two names? I'm pretty stupid when it comes to that sort of thing.

I think because We have two names in Dutch as well, Nederland and Holland. "Nederland" is used in a more formal way, while "Holland" is more casual and 'closer to the people'. Football fans always sing "Holland" for example. A bit like Enland, (Great) Britain and the United Kingdom or America vs the (United) States I guess...

Appeltje 2007.08.02 02:02 PM

By they way, "Neder" means down or low, and "land" means country, hence "the low countries"

NCORE 2007.08.05 01:13 PM

Late introduction a go go
My name is Kevin, I'm 22 years old, look 14 years old.
My favorite artists are Asai Kenichi, Shiina Ringo, Ozaki Yutaka and Spitz
I also see some anime fans here, I'm one of those too ^^;

That's all I guess X"D

Neko Musume 2007.08.11 08:59 AM

I'm new here. I just signed up.
My name is Paulina, I'm from Chile. I've been a fan of Shiina Ringo for 5 years now. Um, I can't remember how I knew about her music, but I remember that the first song I heard was Remote Controller and loved it.

I'm 20 and, as Kevin, look younger (Everybody thinks I'm 13 or 12)

Ummm. I like anime too, I'm a huge fan of Joanna Newsom and Tori Amos. I don't know what else, I guess that's it.

=)

PS Neko Musume: I like your avatar. ;)

Hi.

...

Maybe somebody here remembers me. I used to come here when this was a completely different forum. I've been away for a long time, but I'm happy to see that the place is still standing.
Anyways, I've been a SR(/TJ) fan since 2000. Great stuff.

Tokyo Jihad 2007.08.19 03:53 PM

justriiingo 2007.08.22 02:16 AM

go ahead, make this forum Just Ringo only. ;)

golem09 2007.08.22 02:46 AM

No, let's make a forum without new members, where only Shiina and the Jihens can join.
When there are 6 Ringos, 8 Hiramas, 6 HZMs, 4 Kamedas, 3 Hatas and 1 Uki the fun begins!

Aelxan 2007.08.30 07:58 AM

Well... let's see... i didn't see this thread before, gomen.

Watashi wa Areku desu! Hahaha

My name's Alex, i'm from Spain, and i'm a fan of Shiina Ringo. I found this forum looking a fansite of Tokyo Jihen in my own language, but it's not possible... so i'm here, speaking in a language i don't dominate, but that's necessary to be a REAL SR fan! Don't you think so? hahaha.

See you!!

frecklegirl 2007.08.30 02:15 PM

Just so you know, this forum doesn't really think inserting random Japanese into your speech makes you cool. Also, Alex is Japanese is Arekkusu (アレックス).

Jonny 2007.08.30 09:34 PM

Don't speak for me! Random other languages IS cool!

I didn't make it to be cool... even i'm not good at english -_-

justriiingo 2007.08.31 08:55 AM

We don't and won't blame 2nd language English speakers for not being good at English. Welcome Aelxan!

frecklegirl 2007.08.31 06:01 PM

Its not the English that was the problem... and I've definitely already gotten on to Mugg for inserting random Japanese (IN KANJI) into his speech.

Sharp...and true:) I can know, cause my name is Alex too. If I got a dime for all the times I had to spell my name in both Alphabet AND Katakana while I was in Japan...
Though strangely enough a lot of (Japanese) people also wrote アレクス (arekusu) when I pronounced my name in English. Maybe it's somewhere in the middle...

mr. krull 2007.09.03 06:41 PM

Oh man. Introduction time okay.

Hi, my name is Kai and I've been a SR fan for almost a year now. My girlfriend and her family are what got me into her (Tokyo Jihen as well) and since then it's been a great experience.

I'm also an amature musician--so hearing the music has really helped me come into my own and develop style blah blah.

Hi. :]

Maou 2007.09.04 04:21 PM

Hi, Kai. What do you play? Guitar, piano, other? I play a Fender Stratocaster that I put together and wired myself. It's served as my #1 for years, but I'm thinking about putting together a new one or at least putting on a new neck (rosewood or ebony with jumbo frets).

Positron 2007.09.04 05:42 PM

Completely missed this topic. Oops.

Positron's my old MC handle; I usually just go by Dom or whatever crazy variants people come up with.

I used to be on the old board a while back, but random things just started happening and I forgot about it for a while; kinda wish I hadn't missed as much as I had, most notably the influx of sheer awesome. ::points to everyone::

Found about SR by accident, though looking back on it I can't remember how (specifically) it happened, but it was before KZK. Sampled stuff and stayed a fan. Bought some things, found this community, and so far it's been a good ride.

Oh, and thanks to Kameda, I play bass in addition to piano.

justriiingo 2007.09.04 11:44 PM

Like someone mentioned before, if all EM members lived close to one another, we'd make an awesome cover band. Welcome Positron!

mr. krull 2007.09.05 01:27 PM

Haha, I play guitar and have done so for roughly five years.

Sadly, before last year, I never really took guitar seriously. But since November '05, I've been playing a lot harder and working at it pretty good. But before that, I played violin when I was younger...maybe 7 or 8 years old, haha.

And then after that, my parents bought me a synthesizer, but I was really bad...so guitar has definitely stuck with me, hehe.

makenshiww 2007.09.12 08:04 AM

kai!!!!!

wats up homie!!!!!

its dats brown boi . alex! .. (saw ur ava and was like .. crap . i know him! .)

glad to see ya here

Cinders 2007.09.18 04:45 AM

Hmm Hi, I'm new.

I guess I started listening to Shiina and TJ around May 2006. So I haven't been a fan for too long, but I love them to death. It was all thanks to an anime forum I belong to. A friend of mine posted a youtube video of the Meisei pv and that was all it took, I was hooked.

I'm starting to consider Tokyo Jihen to actually be my favorite band ever, even possibly surpassing my former favorite band Malice Mizer. It was actually this band that got me really interested in piano. I never saw a band use a piano like that (lol HZM and his craziness). I still haven't learned yet though, but one of these days I'll learn piano and guitar. Right now I'll just worry about learning Japanese.

Anyways I live in Florida, I go to FSU. I'm a junior. That's about it.

Ladymercury 2007.09.19 05:42 AM

Hey hey~ New here to the forums. I've been a fan of Tokyo Jihen since the release of their first album, I believe around 2005? I fell into the Tokyo Jihen fandom with my love of PE'Z and admiration for Shiina Ringo.

Now I hear HZM gone left the group around last or or so.... Still a good group. :)

On my free time I try to play the basslines to Tokyo Jihen songs and learn the Saxophone tracks to PE'z songs. Well, when you work at an instrument shop as an assist. manager, there's really nothing else you can do :P Maybe I should learn how to bang Fur Elise on the keyboard like a maniac next :P

Jonny 2007.09.19 05:51 AM

HZM left the band? Please say it's not true

Ladymercury 2007.09.19 05:59 AM

Yeah, he did D: Not PE'z, Tokyo Jihen. Sorry if my post was confusing.
