I own a copy of an Onimusha soundtrack, but I never believed that it was produced solely by an entirely deaf person. It's not that I don't believe people like Beethoven ever existed, and really did produce some of their best work while they were deaf. The material just didn't strike me as coming from the type of genius who doesn't need to hear what they're doing. There's too many non-formulaic nuances. At the very least, I figured Mamoru Samuragochi had help, like maybe someone else was the arranger. But I never went so far as to speculate that he was being given entire songs.
