Well, sunny is certainly better than her latest singles
If you ever feel the urge of listen to new SR music go to sunny |
Don't listen to Sunny if you value your hearing though, the mastering is the worst in the entire scene

LOL
we have a member called "Ringo Ate My Hamster" |
New member here.
Adam's the name. It sounds like the moled-one is crusty and may be cancerous. I still like her though... |

It's probably in tribute to the old headline about Freddie Starr! |
OMG
was this ever true? I mean, Ozzy tried to eat a bat (by accident, but whatever) once I threw a friend's hamster up in the air by accident (he bit my finger, and it was veeery painful) he flew so high! I never thought up until that moment how light they were O_O But don't worry, in the end he landed on my husband's back so he survived |
Hello everyone, new member here. I have been looking for information on Souretsu and found that this forum exists and hopefully someone can help with a question on KSK... Thanks!

To prove that I do have this song on Tokyo Jihen BD and EXPO '14 BD, here's a page... And let me know if you want a picture of any of these booklets in return (and I have more than what's shown here  ) Thanks! |
Ask on the Ringo discord if you want a fast reply but I'll check for you if you can wait

Newbie here & about a year with Yumiko & Jrock/pop.
Hello all, as per instructions i am posting here to introduce myself. I'm an old songwriter/musician (husband/father/granddad/playwright/graphic designer/blah blah blah etc...) from NH USA and on a(nother) search for new & interesting music (being permanently disabled with a bad back & needing new musical listening inspiration), i came across Ringo, Tricot, Passepied, Zone, Bandmaid etc. over the past year.
As a musician listening to many various Japanese bands, i was surprised by how many bands/songs used the same basic chord progression or slight variations (i refer to it as the 'Japanese jazz chords' but is also used by other asian pop/rock bands). It initially drove me nuts as i constantly searched out as many bands as i could and kept hearing 'that chord progression' within almost every song (Tricot has yet to let me down in that respect). I guess it is a cultural thing musically, much like western country music or blues? Anyways, the more i delved into Ringo, the more i liked what i heard & saw in her music/videos. And the more confused i became trying to figure out her name for example... |
Hi songwriterjim!
I have also noticed that the chord progressions in Japanese music tend to be different. Have you seen this video on Youtube?

Here's a link to a PDF of that panel discussion, The J-POP Phenomenon.

Hi there! I used to be on these forums about ten years ago (since around the 10th anniversary to about when Sunny/Expo 14 came out) and I'm happy to see the community is still alive.
Honestly, I stopped following the discussions around 2015 when the music bashing became incessant and I just felt out of place, having enjoyed both Sunny and Expo 14 back then (not a popular thought). One time, we even rented a small theatre with a friend and watched the Expo on a big screen - I suppose we're the only ones to have done that with THAT concert. Now, looking back I think it's heartening in a way to see the community still care and even be excited about the new album which is around the corner. I don't expect anyone to be severely excited when the album actually drops, but I'm here for the reactions :D I have no idea how active I will be, I'm usually not a very engaged person online, but it's nice to see you all again. |
Welcome /o/
It's so nice to have new active members! I've spent one week away and now we have so many new posts I'm so happy to see this forum is not dead yet T_____T |
Hi everyone. Hikaru Utada's collaboration with Sheena Ringo (Not too familiar with the Shiina spelling) was my definite introduction to her. Legally, I became a fan of Ringo's before 2019, indulging myself in all of her solo work.
Only recently have I been appreciating Tokyo Jihen. My bold claim is that their live version of The Creamy Season is superior to all renditions. Currently I look at all her albums / pseudo albums with an equal amount of admiration. Naiveté is a recurring theme when it comes to my life. Eventually enough clues on here will start to show that I'm pretty inexperienced. My very young age would give it away, otherwise. Joining a forum, for fans of Sheena, no less, will be a nice change from the unpleasant stan culture and app communities of the present I am accustomed to. Also, I think I'm doing myself a great service by having registered on a date symbolic of Ichijiku No Hana's approximate length. |

welcome! |
G'day. I stumbled upon Shiina's work one night when a mate (drunkenly) sent me a message at 4am with two words, "Shiina Ringo".
The next day I was hurriedly downloading her discography from a dodgy website after hearing a few of her (and Jihen's) singles on youtube. To be completely honest, her music wasn't the type I'd have ever listened to, and I still don't entirely know why my friend sent me her name, but so it goes. I'm here now aren't I? Hopefully I don't commit too many faux pas on this forum. |
Welcome jarlcorruption!

I love this kind of story I'll try your friend's strategy whenever I get drunk again, so I'll have people around me who also know her (and maybe even like her music) XD |

OMGWTFBBQ.. Can't believe this place still exists! Hello Lena-chan..you're about the only one I still recognize, aside from Glathannus. What a throwback! I came here a year or two ago and I think it was down at the time so I thought it was gone.. Glad to see it and everyone here still alive and well :) Also, a big welcome to all new members! |
Hello milk o/
It's so good to see another person posting in multiple threads XD please keep on coming back, don't let this place die! |
Hi... I registered a while ago but have been just... not posting. I apologize for that>_<.
I'm 18 years old as of now and I have been a Ringo fan ever since I was 9 (or 10, I don't remember that clearly). I discovered her through an anime forum in a thread discussing J-pop. I distinctively remember the first-ever Sheena Ringo song I listened to is 《リンゴの唄》. I was blown away by how... different it sounds from all the other songs I listened to at the time, hence the birth of a new Sheena fan, I guess. I like Sheena's earlier works, my favorite songs include 罪と罰, 時間は暴走する, and 葬列 (the Domestic Virgin Line version of this song is so good I just can't even). Nice to meet you all :D! |

Welcome!!!
/o/ it's always refreshing to see new people posting here n_n |
Hello friends! :D I’m currently 19. I got into Sheena more than a year ago (Feb 15 2020 to be specific since that was when I first listened to her XD). The PV for 本能 showed up on my YouTube recommendations and I was literally in a trance listening to it and watching the video. Been obsessed with her ever since! So happy I found this forum my friends are pretty tired of hearing me ramble about her haha and I’m glad to find fellow fans of her. Nice to meet you all <3

hi im dylan i like shiina
|
i'm 17, my favorite album might be SS, or Reimport Vol 1, or MM, depends on my mood.
My favorite song might be Honnou, or the final single track in Ringo No Uta single, the one that samples all her songs. i'm from Costa Rica and i've been a fan for around 3 years, i know this forum is dead, but well, whatever |
hi all
|
Hi shiinaluver, dylan & devyat... welcome to the forums! Feel free to post in the other threads, even if you don't feel like reading through the numerous pages of previous discussions. Maybe some posts by new users would help to revitalize the forum :) Let us know how you feel about the albums/concerts/eras/Tokyo Jihen line-ups/whatever you want to talk about!
