Shiseido Commercial Song - MA CHERIE
 

It was just announced that Ringo's in charge of the new song promoting Shieseido's MA CHERIE haircare products. The song is also titled "MA CHERIE".

The commercial will feature actress Nana Komatsu, who you might remember from the Jiyuu e Michizure video or The World of Kanako.

The announcement doesn't say much more right now, and there's no preview of the song yet. No mention of whether Ringo is just composing the tune or singing it too.

More information will come in the future, obviously.

Also, I like her doing music for makeup/hair product commercials more than for gum, coke, or insurance. It's a little more elegant at least.

Definitely classier than Coke, plus she's worked with Shiseido before, in...2009, I think? So it makes sense. But my bet is she's once again not singing it.

I don't mind the jingles in and of themselves too much, but I don't love them either. I'm really starting to crave another original album. Going on 18 months since Sunny now.

Well the last Shiseido musical collab was dope as hell so maybe if we're lucky we'll get something full length like that. Ringo was not lying about the whole "composing music on commission" thing though, damn.

Lets take bets on the musical style, it's an obvious choice but I'm going to say French chanson, which is right up her alley these days anyway.
Sometimes I forget how nice Gackt's voice is when he's not overusing vibrato over generic rock songs.

I'm going with big band jazz number. Sophisticated and sexy, like Ringo, but also lacking nuance or any weird Ringo shit that would make the track more interesting, like that Megumi Hayashibara joint.

I'll cast my vote for something along the lines of Karisome Otome.
