2016.03.22 NHK Symphony CLASSICS x POPS with Special Guests Show

So, there's going to be an event at NHK Hall on March 22 which is being put on by the NHK Symphony Orchestra and features SPECIAL GUESTS. It is in celebration of NHK's 90th annversary.

One of those announced so far is Shiina Ringo. This is the first time she will have played with the NHK Orchestra.

The other guest is well, Hatsune Miku

More info from Natalie:

I may attempt to get a ticket to this, seeing as I will be in Tokyo on that date. Sounds interesting-ish. Though mainly I want to hear how bad the NHK Hall truly sounds- it was named 'worst place to go for a concert in Tokyo' by Patrick St. Michel :P

I also want to go but to get into the ballot you have to be a NHK jushinryo holder.
The site says tickets are non-transferrable but then I suppose all concert tickets say that these days.

According to Kronekodow, this concert, or at least an excerpt from it, will be broadcast on NHK Sougou TV on April 9th at 10:30 PM (Japan time).

ETA: Apparently, it's scheduled for only a 1 hour 15 minute time slot. But presumably, Shiina Ringo and Hatsume Miku will still be heavily featured, as they are the headliners.

I hope they do a collab

Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri, with Miku singing Uki's part?

^ complete with animated MV with an animated version of Ringo in it. Lol.

(yes I know Namie already did it but it'd still be cute >.>)

Seems more people were there for Miku.

What a sad world.

Could someone please explain to me the fascination with vocaloids? I just can't imagine the appeal, beyond maybe a bit of novelty value.

ETA: Apparently Hatsune Miku's suggested vocal range is A3-E5...while Ringo's is Bb2-C6. Not that range is everything, but I find this extremely gratifying somehow.

Shiina can't really hit above E5 without falsetto though. C6 is called the "soprano C" for a reason.
