I hope crystalline doesn't suck as bad as Volta, I really do.

Very cool album cover though, bitch needs a hairbrush

I'm really loving "Crystalline". It's so Vespertine/Homogenic-ish .

I hate Crystalline. :( Being a Björk fan is hard these days...you never know when or what to expect...

(Forgot to say, I love the cover. I have it as my desktop.)

OMG
New Bjork!
I'm so happy!

I think it's interesting that she chose this theme, because Bjork has always been a tiny bit technophobic and not really scientifically savy.

EDIT: Honestly, though, I don't see the comparison between SS's cover and this one.

BTW, I always thought SS's cover was very uncharacteristic of Shiina. Like, she doing goth-loli sort of thing with flowers and in a very feminine pose. Very different from the image in her music videos and photoshoots.

I agree. I still don't understand, why the lolita outfit and wig? It makes no sense to me in the context of the album.

The beginning of her era = child?

so_cold 2011.07.02 01:46 AM

Nothing wrong with Shouso Strip's album cover. Never thought it was "uncharacteristically" feminine at all, she often looked different in her photoshoots and videos anyway, like her music was different in every song. Also it's a very pink-sounding album, so it matches.

The new Bjork song sounds like every other Bjork song from the last 15 years with an excellent bit of D&B tacked on the end...

Debut >>>>>>>>>>>>> anything more recent she's done =p

I've always wondered about the Shouso Strip album cover as well especially the contrast between lolita dress+wig Ringo with t-shirt/jeans+normal hair Ringo who is more prominently featured in the liner notes.

Maybe it has to do with Identity??

W3iHong 2011.07.02 06:09 AM

I think we are at a paradox here. Ringo was disappointed when her fans commented on her nurse dress was cosplay in Honnou music video which she said was cyberpunk. But then, she is wearing lolita dress + wig.

So I think we can pretty much cross out cosplay and find a deeper meaning.

I still think it marks the beginning of her career as a newcomer, a child in the industry.

BlueApple 2011.07.02 06:28 AM

If her representing a child was what she/her stylist were going for then it probably would have made more sense as the cover for Muzai Moratorium. Innocence and all that.
