Shiina Ringo on new Towa Tei album
 

Seems Ringo is appearing as vocals on the new Towa Tei album "LUCKY", on a track called "APPLE" no less. Out 10th July.

I like what I've heard of Towa Tei in the past, this should be worth checking out!

Well, these are just a few of his tracks... if the work he did with Ringo is half as interesting as these... such potential!

Edit: After hearing the two singles from the upcoming album that Ringo is on "Licht" and "Radio"... I'm actually pretty excited. I may even order the album (and some of his back catalog while I'm at it).

Wait, I just realised that the album cover on the right is a vinyl of this album. Glath, you gonna grab it? Another LP to add to the Ringo LP collection...

I'm kinda ummm I dunno..... about it. I dont have absolutely every vinyl (I'm missing Sweetz for my Spitz and Where is the Love) but then again... when this sells out...

I might be able to afford 1 or 2 copies of it.

Thanks for the heads up, as I wouldn't have stumbled upon that anytime soon. Amazon.co.jp has it, but strangely HMV Japan doesn't.

I think this is extra valuable when you take into account that EMI and Victor stopped releasing vinyls awhile ago. Unless she does more collaborations with vinyl-friendly artists under vinyl-friendly record labels (a rare combination nowadays), this could very well be the final vinyl with Shiina Ringo in it.

The 5,040 yen price tag seems steep even for Japan standards though... unless its got some nifty packaging or something. They have made quite a deal out of saying the album artworks' artist's (Yayoi Kusama) name on the front cover afterall...

I noticed that Amazon seems to have dropped their postage slightly at least. But not by much.

Well, it's ordered. Combined with some other stuff so it's not too bad postage-wise. Will most likely vinyl porn dump this thread when I get it.

Saw his dj set at Air in Tokyo, Miho Hatori was a surprise guest, pretty awesome.

Hmmm...so she is collaborating with interesting artists after a good 2 years of "huh?" ....his last 2 albums were pretty solid, I imagine a song between them to be on the loungey side, probably a little cheesy, about half of his songs are.
