After getting laid off from a company on the verge of relocating to the Philippines, I've lost the $10,000 LP-to-digital setup I once had access to.
But..
My first step-dad has a Linn Sondeck LP12, which is on-par with the professional turntable my workplace had. I also have exactly the same external recording soundcard model my workplace used, so if I hook that into my step-dad's rig and a laptop (he doesn't have a desktop situated anywhere near his attic stereo), I should be able to make better 96kHz/24bit than someone else using a shitty turntable.
But tragically I am unemployed, and have to wait a month or two before buying this LP. I can't review it, can't 'rip' it, can't.. anything, really. I'm just as disconnected as the rest of you.
