Help with bootleg identification?
Hello!
I downloaded what seems to be a live recording of Shiina at some sort of in-store show (that's the best I could make out from the broken tagging/labeling on the files) with several tracks are talking between songs. It's pretty nice, but it's got some stuff I'm not sure what it is... The bootleg features some interesting non-album stuff, like "Cappucino", covers of "Crazy for You" and "Unconditional Love", and a bunch of stuff I'm not sure ("My Luxurious Night"?) The first track in particular is this awesome song with a funky guitar riff that I can't place at all. There are also two versions of Marunouchi Sadistic. Gibs is on this (no other songs from Shouso Strip, though), so it's probably around '99. This is widely available on that giant torrent floating around that has most of her releases up through the first Tokyo Jihen album. Any idea what show this is, and/or a full track listing? Thanks for any help in advance... |

No. Do not request things. This is not a download forum. You have been warned.

Ah, yeah, one more interesting thing about Douzo Kono Mama.
She performed it in the final round of a Karaoke-Talent-Show she's taken part in before her debut (I think at the age of 15):

Ooh, interesting. I didn't realize she sang it back then. I've seen other clips from that competition, where she's singing Mariah Carey's "Hero" (uugh) and also that truly bizarre segment where she had to sing on a fake soccer field why other older men kicked balls at her... okay, the creepiness of showing her BWH measurements I could sort of ignore, but that was just too strange.
When I first saw those clips I was really shocked, but of course, it's plausible that she tried a more traditional route to stardom at first. Still, that in-store rendition of the song is awesome, a bit similar to TJ's take on Kurumaya-san, though more stripped down. |
