So I finally got around to watching Inglourious Basterds, and ho-ly SHIT,
Christoph Waltz is the fuckin' MAN. This was some of the best acting I've seen this decade (aside from Heath Ledger as Joker of course).

although every time Eli Roth talked I wanted to drive daggers into my eyes/ears. I don't care if he is a Boston native... |

I'm going to see Zombieland on Wednesday with a friend. Should be fun.
Edit: Yep. It was good, mindless fun. One of the better zombedy movies I've seen. I think Shaun of the Dead is still my favorite though.

Anybody else see the Star Trek film that was out on Blu-ray/DVD recently? I thought I'd hate it cause I have no love for the original series, but I surprisingly enjoyed it quite a bit! I've seen all the series and their movies which I enjoyed, but I thought this was a real breath of fresh air in comparison.
Even though it's the original crew it was nothing like the old show, which may be off-putting to fans of that but I loved it. |

Yeah it looks pretty damn stunning. I can understand the reservations about the creatures; they're never going to look completely real because they're not real, but damn if this isn't the closest we've got to photorealistic fantasy CGI. The environments in particular are amazing (and 100% computer generated also).
