lol When did this become a selling point? It's true. Ivy is a bit similar to Asobi Seksu and I like them.

As of right now (literally this very second):

1. the Beatles (cheap way out of choosing between John, Paul and George)
2. Shiina Ringo and her little side projects
3. Utada Hikaru (bite me)
4. Amy Winehouse
5. the Moldy Peaches

Wow, my top 5 has changed quite a lot too! (I love how the internet can become a way of monitoring your own maturing process without even trying)

1. Tokyo Jihen
2. Shiina Ringo
3. The Strokes
4. The Killers
5. The Hives

It's kind off annoying that my LastFM does not reflect this yet, but I'm getting there . Just haven't had a lot of time to listen to music on the PC recently. Also, The Killers and The Strokes are pretty interchangeable here. I'm still not sure which I like more. They give me something different to love. But, I put the Strokes first just because they have two guitarists and awesome guitar solo's. All I'm saying is that Ringo should become steady-second guitarist and I would be forever greatful. I can only imagine what that would sound like. It would probably taste better than bacon, pancakes, and fried eggs.

It seems that alot of people here are keen to Asobi Seksu. Is there anyone here who have yet to submit themselves to the group?

CLT - The Long Blondes - Only Lovers Left Alive

Edit - Oops, forgot that this wasn't the CLT thread...

It would be terrible because Ringo herself is one of the worst female guitar player/vocalists that I've ever heard. All she can play is filler chords while singing and even just playing that makes the quality of her vocals go way down.

My current top 5 would be:

1. Asobi Seksu
2. Luna Sea
3. St. Vincent
4. Tito & Tarantula
5. Ivy

I could live with it if it sounded badass on the recordings

It wouldn't sound any different than any other time she's played guitar. She's not good at it. You'll barely notice she's there whenever the lead is also playing. It wouldn't be anything like the Strokes because she's nowhere near the level of Albert or Nick. Now, I'm all for adding a second, real guitarist to the band. That would be great.

Eh, I guess. Imagine Uki AND Hirama! I get goosebumps.

Also, how do we really know that she can't play any better? I don't think she's as good as the Strokes' guitarists, but I think their songs would be way different if she had to play any larger role with the guitar.
