Yeah, I'm sure sure she's just dying to ask her talentless ex-husband to play guitar for her again.

The band that played during the Ringo Expo is far more likely. Particularly Yukio Nagoshi since he worked on SG with her and did some of the SG-era TV performances with her.

Oh, I thought the guiatarist for Glycogen was Nishikawa? I didn't realize it was her ex-husband (what was his name? Yayoshi?)

I don't think Kameda is going anywhere, at least we can count on that.

Dat drummer.
I want a song with Shiina singing over those pounding drums and nothing else.

Wasn't Nishikawa Gyakutai Glycogen's original guitarist, though?

Yep. Played for one tour and some festivals. He's not coming back.

Can you believe some people on this forum don't want a DVD of this tour for Ringo's 15th anniversary because they don't think Ringo's voice was refined enough at the time? Sheesh.

Hata is a cool guy and all, but he was only the third best drummer to play with Ringo.

I mostly just dislike that it includes 2 version of the Teen Titans Theme and ANOTHER recording of Invisible Tomorrow. It struck me as lazy, but Ami was pregnant at the time so I imagine they tried to ease the load as much as possible.

As for HiHi and de-legitmization thereof, Jeff at Amiyumidas explains it best here. When Puffy first arrived stateside they made rounds on the indie/college circuit, where audiences were pretty receptive for a Japanese act - but once they jumped on the kiddie boat, they got pigeonholed as just another "J-Pop" act, as people here are talking about.

You went to the Splurge tour? I'm jealous! I would have killed to go. I did get to see them when they came to NYC in 2010, which was pretty awesome (although the opening acts were way too long).
One last derailment. Yes, I admit that while listening tonight 59 does now sound like an inept packaging of Nice "B" material and Teen Titans by Sony, but at time it seemed to organically flow from Nice and suggest that their next offering would be more ear candy from their two tunesmiths. Didn't happen. Whatever.

Um, anyway, did see lots of shows, including Battery Park City (front row center stage left 'cause I'm an Ami fan) and Webster Hall and Irving Plaza.

And met Halca and Yucali at Kinokuniya and "backstage" in Central Park, which I thought might interest you.

My friends saw them when they were here too, I wasn't a fan yet when they came.

I'm not entirely sure what constitutes a "good" drummer anyways, but I always thought Hata was fun to watch and listen to. Besides, where else can they get a drummer that can also do traditional Japanese dance?
