^Yes; to clarify, that post was 100% tongue-in-cheek.

So I finally actually looked at this. Gotta say, nothing I like better with my eclectic Japanese music than splash banners for One Direction and unskippable, two-minute trailers for the latest Seth Rogan vehicle. :/

just adblock. I mean, seriously, why do people even tolerate it? Chrome and Firefox both easily support it.

I don't understand why so many Japanese music corporations decide that only Japan should be able view promotional materials. YouTube is a very big offender when it comes to official videos being blocked by country or region. It's so bizarre to me that it's like this especially now that we live in the day where anyone can purchase music online through a variety of methods. Limiting potential viewers to those in Japan just limits the range in which people become fans. Sure, not everyone from every foreign country is going to understand Shiina Ringo. But why block her from those who might love her?

I find that Japanese companies tend to be at least 5 years behind when it comes to new technology and social media, some of them still think it's the 70s and they can control every aspect of how their product is represented and distributed. And that's why they add weird unnecessary limits, they want the same kind of control they had way back when there was no internet.

Can anyone recommend a good VPN service with Japanese servers?
The whole blocking of videos thing is one of the reasons I'm interested on one. |

if I want to just watch the videos and I just pick a Japanese ip address. But it's pretty sluggish using an alt ip address so I just download the videos with http://www.clipconverter.cc/
