![]() It's probably the only song from the album, excluding OSCA and Killer Tune (that I like very much) that I really like.
I'm now listening to Variety after months and months of not listening to it and it is now obvious what it's flaws are. It's so... meh. But it's interesting that the songs they chose to play at RSR are the best/more acceptable ones. Ramp, Mirrorball, OSCA, Killer Tune, Kronekodow... I have a foundness for the 2 opening tracks of the album, I confess. But the rest is so "BLERGH HERE'S A SONG!". Tokyo Jihen - Killer Tune |

![]() Not currently listening to, but soon will be listening to, the Rivers Cuomo demo cd. I'm not a huge Weezer fan. I loved Blue and Pinkerton, Green was ok. After that the only song I've heard that I liked was Keep Fishin' (but I havent written them off, tho what I've heard of Red sure sucks =p)
Today at the station they had the cd in my bin. Not many of the tracks were labelled as picks except the Buddy Holly demo -- which I didnt play cuz I thought it sucked for the radio. However I decided to finger through the liner notes and was thoroughly enthralled. I will be *gasp* buying this tomorrow.

![]() Speaking of Rivers Cuomo, his YouTube account is pretty fascinating. He is gradually (currently up to step 15) creating a song using idea's thought of entirely by YouTube users. He starts by asking people to submit song titles, guitar riffs etc to him, he picks ones he likes, asks for vocal melody ideas, lyrics etc. It's quite fun to watch, especially if you've been following the songs progression from day 1 like me.
You can watch the progression of the project on his YouTube channel here.

![]() I like Rivers. Hes alot like Billy Corgan, they're both clearly geeks. Whereas the later was clearly the goth type, the former was the chess-club type. But both seem like they wrote for their high school's literary magazine.
They both can be kinda embarassing and overwhelming at times, but they both come up with great ideas that tend to fizzle out before they're seen through. (Rivers has a slightly better track record though) (Rivers also has always had a case of the yellow fever, which I think is hilarious.)
