I'm not overly impressed by the melody (it's a little too '60s-sounding for my liking); the musicianship and little flourishes are what make the song. Uki especially shines with all that hyper plucking. I will say that I'm not crazy about the bass tone though. I like the jazzier tone on Adult.
Anybody else hoping there's some fretless on the album? |

After hearing bam's sliced-up version of OSCA, I think:
OSCA = ping pong ball. (just an observation, doesn't mean the song is bad or good or anything.) Hearing the song without seeing the [golem]retarded video[/golem] certainly makes it sound a lot better.

I'm pretty surprised there is already kanji floating around for this, unless this was taken from the Petrols release. The lyrics aren't really what I would expect, but it did come from Uki and not Ringo. They lack a certain depthness that you usually find in her work. It also seems to me to have a certain male aspect to it.....I like the attitude though. Because of the very unique voice I think it would be tricky to translate right, a direct translation would probably look really sketchy too. I did a brief mental sketch but seeing as most everyone here depends on Frecklegirl, I've leave that to her, XD, when the official lyrics surface maybe I will try and my own and we can cross check. edit: those lyrics are pretty much EXACT to what she sings in the PV, so wherever you got them from did a great job, although I would change some of the kanji 鳥渡 to ちょっと 嗚呼 to Ahhhh 接吻 to キス she actually doesn't sing seppun 接吻, she sings "kiss" during the song. I'm guessing above this really old kanji will be furigana for the words like "kiss" although I still am shocked to see kanji for chotto and "aaahhhh" (the kanji compound is a combination of the characters for to cry/ring and to call, I guess "ahhhhhh" makes sense then). The kanji for chotto is beyond me, hahaha, bird and to cross? Maybe since chotto means a little, it refers to when the birds cross, as in a little passing of time? I have no idea.....Edo kanji, yup. I like adult so-so, but I like osca better.
Trend you say? Mm. After a few listens, this really grows on a person.
