The original Jazz a Go-Go is just an awful song (France Gall's and Ringo's to a lesser extent), but I love that scat, too.
Those little Ringo squeaks are too cute for words, so SHENANIGANS! to anyone who doesn't like them. I almost asploded at the end of Tegami because of those squeaks. I've always liked her extreme over-enunciation of non-Japanese words, too, especially "prostitute" and all French/German/Portuguese. That "nook" nonsense was unnecessary, though. Yeah, Ringo's catalog is just chock full of little things that drive me to put so many of her songs on repeat.

The squeak only works in Tegami since it seems so fitting to end the song like. One last gasp of air to finish the message. It's annoying in every other song.

lolz...this thread is exactly why SR and TJ are "da bomb"
silly rabbits.... Definitely music you close your eyes to and realize that the songs are much more evolved than 98% of what is on the radio nowadays

Oh, so many songs I could talk about.
KUKI - The ending part. It has that feel that would be perfect 'Shion Sonozaki murder music' (what I mean is that I can see it perfectly in a scene of Higurashi with Shion killin someone.) Also, the guitar mixed with so many other instruments, simply wonderful. Meisai - That bass that plays after the opening part. It reminds me of a riff from a Munsters or Adam's Family-style opening....dunno why. Izonshou - That part at the end where it goes...just...crazy. It sounds like a FLCL song there. Nabara - The 8bit style music is certain spots. Like YMCK gone German.

I find myself always adding the explosion at the start of that part like in the video.

I did that sometime, too. I have both versions, so in the edited one I'll add the Hitler part.

A couple more I forgot about until a recent Ringo splurge day:
Aozora - that little Hammond organ flourish right after she sings " katakurushii kotoba natsukashikute" 17 - the strummed chord in the left speaker after she sings " I do not have a title" Genjitsu wo Warau - the lengthened glottal stop in the word "not" (no...t) |
