Sugar (live)

never fails to give me goosebumps. such a kick ass song.

too bad you can't say "pussy" on tv, too bad you can totally tell what she says anyways. she has some skills with dropping out words.

It's that song she did for a kabuki show, in 2007.
There are some threads about it somewhere.

I listened for the first time to a Beatles album this week. My previous experience of their music came from documentaries, and maybe movie soundtracks (... I almost forgot SR's cover of Yer Blues). The album I picked up from the local library had two CDs, and a white cover with just "The Beatles" printed on it; I thought it was some sort of compilation album.

I knew that EMF members like Tokyo Jihad and digdad were fans of their music, so I was quite interested in finding out why. After listening to a few tracks, I thought, wow, who ever picked the songs for this compilation, I really like the selection on display here. I never knew that the Beatles played such wide variety of music styles.

I really liked 'Blackbird', so I decided to find out more about it and look it up on wikipedia. Soon, I realized that it wasn't some compilation album that I was listening to, but 'The White Album' that EMF Beatles fans praised so highly (the other being Sgt. Peppers).

I look forward to listening to more Beatles albums.

Yes, The White Album offers great variety. I wouldn't have recommended it as a place to start though; it's a tad over indulgent and not as consistent as their other classic albums but you liked it so that is all that matters. Abbey Road, Sgt Peppers, Revolver and Rubber Soul are all astounding, but you can't really go wrong with anything. My favourite changes often, but it's usually Rubber Soul or Abbey Road. It makes me happy when people properly discover The Beatles

CLT: The Beatles - Rain.

YESS. Rocky Raccoon is the beeest. And The Concerning Story of Bungalow Bill and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Sooo good.
But the main albums I really listened to were the Red and Blue albums. They've got most of my favorite songs and I love the cover correlation of each album.

Having grown up on the Beatles it never occurs to me that people haven't heard them. It's just second nature to me, so much that I sometimes underestimate them. But yes, they are fantastic. I particularly have grown to really like their earlier work. But that might just be because I love the simple Every Brothers and Motown/Supremes pop/rock of the early 60s, which it really isn't really that much different from.
