yeah, OH K, junior. seriously, i don't see how you talk about melodies etc. and yet can listen to something like that. i can't finish listening to that song. and even if, you wanted to argue that it does have a good melody, i find the music to be so sterile. it seems so very generic and her voice too. it's like if you took all the female singers who've done electronic/80s-ish feeling music and rolled them up and you'd get something like her. she's so plastic to me. i know you have a thing for female singers, but most of what you listen to is way more interesting than that, people like the ting tings, pipettes, or bat for lashes. (of course i like those too, so it's easy to say ).

but, i guess that's how you feel about SG, so it doesn't matter.

Hell, I think The Ting Tings are pretty bland compared to La Roux. The Ting Tings have 2, maybe 3 decent songs on their album. With La Roux the number is 6+.

You have to enjoy that kind of 80s music to like La Roux. You were born just a few years too late

Edit - After listening to the video I posted I just realized that it's a demo ver. of the song. It's better on the album...

apparently he used to work with the band quite a bit. he was quite good friends with the the band members, particularly the lead singer, and he did visual design and all sorts of make up and design stuff for the band during shoots and PV's and various things. to see that they are actually known by the world at large then was quite a surprise.

The P5 were perhaps the most popular Japanese group in the USA in the mid-90's. Performed to packed houses, lots of college/alternative radio airplay, albums released on a domestic label...

I own more than 20 CDs.
