See, I disliked the Orchestra in every song EXCEPT for those three. Tengoku sounded like a James Bond theme, Seishun no Matataki sounded beautiful, and Oishii had more bite to it, but that might just be Ringo's performance.

^I thought she did a good job. Hell, I think she still is. Definitely getting the right people to pen songs for her.
@Turtle: Don't get me wrong, I thought those songs were the best of the best, as far as the orchestrated numbers went, but still. The Neko Brigade had no place fighting for agency with Ringo's superb vocals (the one spot-on thing and saving grace of the whole concert). |

I understand what you mean, but those songs also deserve to be orchestrated, so I think the mixing might be the major problem.
You are right, Neko fought too hard for dominance over Ringo when it is supposed to be HER show! |

But wasn't Jihen about fighting for dominance in sound? They couldn't even let Time Capsule go by without incorporating the whole fucking band on Bon Voyage. Its so much better without the drums like on Color Bars...

I'm a little surprised to see there was SO much negativity about this here. For me this is their (phase 2 anyway...) best concert DVD/BD release. Whenever I see anyone who wants to get in to Tokyo Jihen this is the first thing I recommend to them. I thought the playlist was good, I liked most of the costume choices, I loved the camera work and quality and I though the orchestra fit real well. It was a show, it was interesting to watch. The only thing I really didn't care for was the dancers but I got over that. It's kind of weird but my favorite part of the whole show was the part from sa_i_ta to Noudouteki Sanpunkan, but really to me the whole first half is just 100% greatness and the second half is really good too.

Bon Voyage is by no means a bad show - but better than Dynamite Out? Or Ultra C? I'm not seeing it.

I'm not having this! Dynamite Out is OBJECTIVELY the best Jihen live (if we don't count the unofficial Jihen on EM) by some margin in terms of tracklist and musicality. Bon Voyage is great, but it's a very different beast that carries itself along a more jovial less serious manner with a weaker tracklisting. You see Voyage a few times you don't go back. Dynamite is one that got quite a few visits over the years.
You want a rock show? Dynamite. You want a song and dance show with laughs and costumes? Bon Voyage. Luckily we can have both! Only one of these shows has HZM. You know what's up... Welcome to the forums, ecco! Last edited by Ringo~Bingo (ver. 2) : 2018.04.23 at 02:30 PM. |

I've never watched anything post dynamite out more than once (except for zazen, but that doens't exactly count as post-DO)
maybe I'm just a person that doesn't like rewatching things? O.õ I don't know
