Practice your RS/TJ karaoke on YouTube
Don't ask how or why I came across these---combination of slow night and curiosity. There are a good number of Shiina Ringo / Tokyo Jihen karaoke videos online that, if you want to practice or do a "follow the bouncing ball" routine with the lyrics.
By "karaoke video" I don't mean you watch some weirdo perform the song in a club. I mean you get a digital file of the actual video that plays on karaoke machines, or performances that have the camera pointed right at the lyric screen so you can follow along. Here's one for Gibisu, just the file of the video:
Since this uploader wasn't angelic enough to post every single SR/TJ karaoke video of this type (though he/she put up over 600 of them for other songs), you have to get more of the second type where you have to hear the sometimes not-so-terrible singing:
I think these are a fun enhancement to the songs, especially if you're into Japanese language-learning. They'll also prepare you well for when you may want to do this for real in a club. Feel free to add more links in this thread. |

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but does anyone know a good source for karaoke-versions of japanese songs in general??
youtube isn't much of a help usually and same for jpopsuki (except for the few CD rips that contain 1-2 karaoke versions). |

I sang.. ah.. Gibbs and Stem (Dai... nantoka version) at karaoke tonight. And Gunjo Biyori last Monday at the bonenkai. I never go to karaoke otherwise so this week has been busy.
Oh btw I suck at singing. Maybe I should practice with these... |

honnou is a good karaoke song to whip out and if you got the chops tsumi to batsu is awesome too. I think the key is to have one or two songs your really good at for when your in a big group environment. For me that is JOY by YUKI, I can sing that song backwards forwards and upside down while underwater and gagged.

I ended the last karaoke with Nena - 99 luftbalons. While not a singer, I think I impressed with that one. It's hard to find foreign music... I did sing Kara - Mister however. Should practice the butt dance.

They're all uploaded on this channel. I missed Noudouteki Sanpunkan on the list, though. Last edited by mr. Pillow : 2011.02.23 at 02:13 AM. |
