I'm all for SS part II !
Why wouldn't it be a good idea to see Shiina write like that again? Knowing Shiina, she'll write melodies that'll make that style seem fresh. Acoustic-only is not a bad idea, but maybe not a whole album. I will be disappointed if a new SR album didn't have at least a couple of Hard hitting songs in them. Let those guys participate, just not in the songwritting process. Maybe Uki can serve in more of a background role, like carry luggage or running out for cigarettes for the band at 3am.

I'm hoping she would stay in the same mind frame she was in when she wrote the music to that Kabuki performnce. Even that crazy man screaming in it was music to my ears.
And this time around, I don't care if uki"fiddy"gumo's gonna run away, going solo or whatever. Let SR grab a no-name guitarist she can boss around with. And if she is going solo, I doubt there'll be a MM/SS/KZK ver b; its evolution baby! If MM begets SS begets KZK, we should be contemplating what comes out of KZK, not what an SS imbreed would look/sound like... which takes us back to my point of Kabuki and crazy man screaming mind frame (I hope).

noooooooooooo
I don't want acoustic noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo >_< I'd say that she should do orchestrated versions of her songs, but we already have BX, HF and ringohan O_O it's tooooooo muuuuuuuuuuch then, next time, what I want is strings or orchestra with noisy guitars and some eletronica elements, sometimes beautiful emotional vocals sometimes enkaish sometime sexy and low vocals, maybe some sax, maybe a lot of sax, carnivalish music such omatsuri sawagi, that kind of shuukyou~souretsu sound, acapellaish stuf like torikoshi kurou, more diamonds like aisaka no choushoku, and as JR said some dance rock all of it messed, mixed togheter in a beautiful/unique/freshiest/diferent from previous SR/but even, with the power that made us fell in love all in that Ringo way, that we loved so much

I'm sort of in line with Lena on this one. I would love to see an album that explores multiple genres. Throw in some disco, swing, power pop, hard rock, punk, lo-fi, jazz, samba, bossa nova, orchestrated madness, whatever. But let it all have a common thread of the emotionally driven vocals we know and love. And do it with the boys, let them go wild, they're capable. Even Uki.

Yea but saying "4th album" allows me to be a little clever and pull the old switcheroo on everyone. Being clever is the only reason I post. And I didn't say no one could talk about Uki....?

Bleh, Uki sucks~
I'd like...: 1. (as Huiping said) dance/rock tracks. 2. Kinda electronic music (but better than "Oiran" or "Hatsukoi Shoujo"...). 3. Kinda reggae/funky music (oh, don't say this would be bad, please!). 4. Jazzy songs a la "Mayonaka wa Junketsu" / "Karisome Otome (DEATH JAZZ ver.)". 5. More "Tamatebako"-like music (kabuki/enka-ish, y'know). If Shiina released an album with all this stuff, I could rest in peace. |

On the one hand, that's already been done, and I'm not sure the world needs more of it. On the other hand, YS is better Esquivel than Esquivel's own Esquivel, so maybe it would work.
Also, and I'm pretty likely a minority of one here, I'd love an entire Jihen album of Kameda power-pop. |
