What to buy first?
Hi, I'm new here.
My violin teacher introduced me to Ringo recently after he told me he played in Ringo Expo '08 as part of the orchestra. I adore her music now and I was wondering what I should get first. I've been obsessively watching the Expo on youtube and I'm hoping to get some tangible Ringo stuff on my hands now. I live in Japan, so I have access to most things. What do you guys recommend I get first? Thanks! |

I would recommend the Shouso Strip album. It has some of her best songs and it's a great place to get started if you're looking to really get into Ringo.

Muzai Moratorium, Dynamite Out, Shouso Strip
I really am not sure about papi's recommendation of starting with Zazen Xstasy. That might be one to save for later.

You play the violin, and can therefore appreciate that instrument more than most of us. You should listen to (and I also hope also quite enjoy) Heisei Fusoku, a collaboration with with violinist Saito Neko.
A few here might vehemently disagree. This album is probably undervalued here, and I hope that any future offhand dismissal by a perennially hyperbolic über-poster never makes you question the validity of your own opinion. Post count and passion do not necessarily imply sagacity. Last edited by TeslaGuy : 2009.05.21 at 10:32 PM. |

Thank you so much!
It makes sense; starting chronologically from the start of her career might help me understand the progress she's made since Muzai to KZK. Heisei Fusoku sounds really interesting - Saito Neko is that violinist right? The one who played the violin part in Meisai? (which I love right now). Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'll be looking through all of them and decide to get what depending on my budget and whether my parents will allow me to buy so much, XD. |
