SS is the most skippable of the original big three Ringo albums, imo. Benkai Debussy, Tsuki ni Makeinu, and Byoushou Public (though I do like the chorus) are all lackluster. In fact, Tsuki ni Makeinu is my least favorite Ringo song. I can respect people that like it but it's not really my thing. It's just not as melodic as some of her other stuff.

But that being said it has some of Ringo's BEST tracks of all time. Kyogenshou (I know Maou disagrees with me here and I seem to recall Lena saying she hates it too but I adore this track), Yokushitsu, Gibs, Yami ni Furu Ame, Tsumi to Batsu, Stoicism, hell the first half of the album is basically a non-stop ride of awesomeness. Then we close with FUCKIN' HONNOU and Izonshou. Most of the time when I'm making deliveries for my job, I listen to the entire album in the car just because I don't feel like skipping tracks. But I skip maybe 4 out of the 13 songs regularly. I used to skip Yami ni Furu Ame but I've grown to love it over the years. I still stand by it being a good album.

Of all her albums I find the most skippable (and I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this), Adult makes the top of the list for me. 9 times out of 10, I skip Kenka Joutou, Superstar, Shuraba, Yukiguni, and Toumei Ningen. That's half the album right there. I know skipping Shuraba is practically sacrilege but I really do like the single version that much better.

If it was the single version, maybe cause for concern. The album version is permissible to skip.

Shouso Strip underrated post incoming...

It's not so much that I hate Kyogenshou. It's more like I think it's one of the weaker tracks on the album. I like the chorus, the rest not so much. I really, really don't like Benkai Debussy though. Howeva, I do love Tsuki ni Makeinu and I think Byoushou Public is top tier just on the chorus alone.

If we're talking strictly the albums Ringo did the majority of the writing, I'd agree with this. Whenever I revisit Adult, it's almost always Himitsu, Tasogare Naki and/or Tegami.

Jihad, SS can't be underrated when I'm in the MINORITY by disliking it (and even then I enjoy it a lot, just not as much as everyone else)

Aww, you skip all my favorite Adult tracks. My personal Adult album replaces Shuraba with the single version, swaps in Rakujitsu for Tegami, and just throws out Toumei Ningen (or replaces it with something cool from JCHI, like Shoujo Robot). Also the ending is edited out of Yukiguni and amended to the beginning of Kabuki.

Personally, I just don't like the second half of Yukiguni. When it's just Izawa and Ringo, the song is perfection. Then the rest of the band comes in to derail the pace of the song. :/

And there's really no comparison between the single and Adult versions of Shuraba. Single version outdoes the album version in every way.

I actually either listen to albums as a whole (not skipping tracks) or my entire music collection on shuffle (skipping tracks). Never been one to put together those newfangled "playlists".

Gunjou Biyori. Over-hyped and just marginally better than Senkou Shoujo, that people only champion because it's a Phase One ditty. Discuss.

I kinda liked Gunjou Biyori when I first heard it, but it was never one of my favorites. However, it's grown on me in more recent years.

A lot of people don't like B.B.Queen either, but I appreciate it and Gunjou Biyori (and Lady Is A Tramp) for those deliciously harsh vocals we rarely heard in Phase 2, and the instrumentals in Gunjou Biyori serve as an appropriate vehicle for that. Also, it's some of Hata's best drumming ever.

Gunjou Biyori may not be the greatest ever, but it's a lot more than "marginally better" than Senkou Shoujo.

There's a live of BB Queen out there where Ringo sings the whole thing in a sort of staccato GROWL. It's so hammy but also AWESOME.
