Although I don't know anything about 'Yumiko Shiina' as person outside of internet myths, I find the idea of her being lured to New Mexico somewhat hilarious

\/ In SWITCH or something they said they had practised twice the number of tracks we eventually got in Sports, but left them out 'cause they didn't fit the sound of the album. She said they'd be saving them for the next release, and I guess this next album is it.

I thought it was just another of those comments you (I) can get carried away with, but the change of mood in the newer promo stuff obviously indicates that they were too moody for Sports or something. There was also that interview in which SR told us that she went on a secret jazz binge and did research and stuff.
SR Secret jazz binge research sounds exciting, but if it resulted in TnY, then...

That is one result of Ringo's laboratory research. But jazz has such a rich history that there isnt just one style. Bebop sounds nothing like jazz fusion which sounds nothing like the sappy smooth jazz on FM radio. Its the root of rock and blues and hip hop, or so I was taught in jazz history in college.

Just no more showtunes, pleeeease!

yes, because nothing says jazz like new mexico

sports 2? snore. someone needs to teach ringo how to edit. you should ALWAYS practice twice the number of what you have and put the best on the album.

if they release a new album of sports-reject songs that wouldn't bode so well.

jihen is so stale it isn't even funny. every piece of news gets worse and worse.

Scribble R, it would be appreciated if you could provide details or links to the articles/interviews you cited. Also... what's TnY (crying face?)

Eh, some of the things I'm refer to are buried in early album megathreads. You'd have to probably search for them.

But with the Sports leftover thing:
http://forums.electricmole.net/showp...8&postcount=91

It was Musica, not Switch.

- They tried more than twice as many songs as those actually included in the album. That was unusual for Ringo, who rarely drops songs in recording. But she says they dropped quite a few songs just because they wouldn't fit in this album, and such songs will be saved for the next release.
This doesn't mean Sports 2. It implies that they didn't sound like anything on Sports, thus they kept them for the next release. Obviously, this isn't any kind of confirmation, and doesn't mean there won't be any newly composed tracks. It's just the most logical conclusion after seeing the promo materials for the new single.

The fact that Hattori Takayuki is arranging SR's new track is something new for a start. I can't imagine Kameda's song sounding like anything other than his past work though.

I get song titles wrong all the time. Yeah, I meant that one ^
