No, it's not a surprise at all. I would not have noticed the pun till you pointed it out lol.

Does not mean that other songs will sound like what I'm expecting this song to sound like (Ichijuku no Hana/Ariamaru Tomi-ish). The B-side of Ariamaru Tomi is still goddamn amazing and sounds NOTHING like Ariamaru Tomi- which also was for a TV show. (as much as I truly adore Sanmon Gossip, I can imagine how awe inspiring a full album worth of SG -Superficial Gossip- songs would be like).

I realise all the above is pretty damn obvious :-p

Is it too optimistic to think that if Shiina Ringo were to release another solo album, it'd be Orchestra (or a variety of instruments) + Electronica instead of showtunes?

The most 'Shiina centric' songs (as in SR being credited with anything outside composition, lyrics and vocals) since KZK are 0maru chiten kara and Hatsukoi Shoujo. I also wonder if Tamatebako was initially planned to be part of the original HF (when it was an instrumental, 'highly produced' album).

Sanmon Gossip's 'gimmick' was conceived at around 2005, as confirmed here. Now that SG's out of the way, maybe it's time to dig up those old HF demos?

I suppose everyone's too jaded to care. But it makes perfect sense to me.

This was one of the longest gaps I've witnessed between the initial announcement of a new SR/TJ disc, and international vendor(s) finally listing the product.

I think it says the single will feature a b-side. They could be talking about anything, actually.

I just wonder if this amount of material is intended to tide us over, or if it hints at a prospective 5th solo album. Who knows how many compositions she has locked up?
