That was quite cheesy.
Sounds like backstreet boys with a heavier sound. Notched up a bit..not. I'm pretty open minded for any kind of music, but i'm pretty confident to say that this is more worst then any Finnish label whore band could produce in their short life span. This butchered my great evening. It's nice to see people doing covers outside Japan from Japanese songs..but this sounds to me that this was quite fastly putten together.

First Love... FUCK YES
No... it's bad. I think I'd be rather pissed off if I was either Shiina or Utada, these emo covers are just not flattering. Don't most artists pay some kind of tribute to the original ones by covering their songs? Anyway Glath... honestly I think Neko arrangements are really good. Sure I think the originals are by far a lot better, but generally he does a great job, at least they work for me. Don't put him down just because you don't want "nu-Shiina". |

I just listen to it... And I didn´t like it at all... It sounded too cheesy for me, and that translation... If the other songs were in japanese, why only Kabukichou no joou was in english? He even killed Morning Musume´s LOVE Machine with that cover, and having some of the original MoMusu voices on that one didn´t save it...

I usually save video and audio posts for when I get home, because my work computer speakers are tied directly into my iPod. Given all these rave reviews, it looks like I'm going to have to crawl around back and connect the speakers to my computer just for this. Call it a "rubber-necking effect".
EDIT: Much like a terrible accident on the highway, why did I feel the need to look? It will haunt me for a while now. Last edited by digdad : 2008.12.04 at 06:30 AM. |

I don't get it. He's a white guy, covering japanese songs. But he's translating into english, yet (at least with Kabuki-cho) making it sound more japanese/j-pop(??)
I usually disregard the lyrics anyway, so I was with the song in the early going. At the end, however, I couldn't help but laugh.
