As a slightly older Japanese generation who used to think our country
is practically a part of west (sense of cold war or G7 values or so),
I really don't like the attitude that overemphasizing 'cultural difference'.

I remember back in 80s, there were so many 'culture' talking that
intended to led 'THEY are different from US, so WE should take
DIFFERENT TREATMENT toward THEM' thought.
These 'cultural difference' talk was used as a cover of racism.

Humans are not that different.

that's been the second time i've been misquoted..
this isn't the 80's~ why'd you put my comments in that context..?
there's nothing wrong with the differences in culture!
and i only mentioned japan.. because we are in a forum that.. oh man.. never mind

i should've just said 'live in australia/germany/england/usa for a year'..

And you also, I guess, misinterpreted ME.

You said to me, "You should try living in a different country."

Um. I've already done that. Twice. So having it suggested to me as if I'm some poor backwards ethnocentric person... while you are the worldly traveler... uh. Is way off. THAT'S what I had a problem with.

Kanji in your titles, WITHOUT a romanization or translation. I've got no problem with something like "Favourite song off 無罪モラトリアム (Muzai Moratorium)" or whatever.
