The only acceptable release nowadays is GORAKU, obviously.

I'm actually re-titling all my Shiina/TJ releases back into the original Japanese names, so listening to a lot of tracks I haven't listened to in years.
Man, TJ's albums don't really hold up? And I have no desire to listen to their post-color bars material.

It doesn't hold up because it's not engorged with blood. The lack of desire could be caused by depression, stress, or alcohol.

For TJ, I can still listen to Adult, but that is about it. And DO is the pinnacle. Recently rediscovered Sanmon Gossip. It is a great album, now that time has passed I can see that.

Bittersweet that my time in Japan (2007-2012) coincided with the least interesting (to me) period of Shiina's/TJ's output. I did manage to see her three times. She clearly enjoys performing, and it is so natural for her, getting to see her at any point is still pretty spectacular.

If you buy Shiina's albums while you're in Japan and load them into your computer they will have the Japanese titles. I had a friend buy me all her albums and send them to me.

As for TJ - Adult still rocks and occasionally I'll put on some songs from Sports and Variety. I never got into Daihakken, unfortunately. Color Bars is short enough to hold my attention.

I was shocked the other day looking through my Ipod and realizing they had so many albums.

I often wonder how people can like Sports or Daihakken but not like both- they are pretty much exactly the same album...

Daihakken wins by a margin cause of Onna no ka wa Daredemo AKA the solo Ringo song.

Someone should pick 11 songs from both albums (in total, ie, 5 from one and 6 from the other- why 11? Cause it worked for Kyoiku and Adult) and make a new album that will probably be on par with Kyouiku/Adult. I'm too lazy/suck at this but I know it's probably a real possibility. It would work too because I feel the production value on Sports and Daihakken are very similar.

As for retitling to Japanese- autotag seems to do this pretty well... (most of the time). I do like to have a laugh a what it comes up with when you try to autotag the DVD rips though- more often than not "Ringo Starr" is the artist.

All Jihen albums are an inalienable part of Ringo's greatness!

I think Sports and Daihakken could have some fat trimmed from them and combined into a pretty solid pop/rock album. Here are my picks, in no particular order.

Kaze ni Ayatte Ike
Atarashii Bunmei Kaika
Osorubeki Otona-tachi
Tengoku e yokoso For The Tube
Utenkekkou
Noudouteki Sanpunkan
Zettai Zetsumei
Sora ga Natteiru
Denpa Tsuushin
Kachiikusa
Foul
Kinjirareta Asobi
Kimaru

Not necessarily the exact order, but Kimaru as closer and Kaze ni Ayatte as opener is ideal. Mixing them up is good. Maybe cut 2 out to make it 11 and sleeker.
