i did not know that song was a cover, they did a great job caus i like it better than the original, maybe caus i hate the 80s drum sound,

and i love this cover from faye wong ever since i watched chung king express

Rolling Stones Brown Sugar 1973


I'm a bit selective with Rolling Stones tracks, because I'm more of a fan of their live performances and singles as opposed to their entire albums. The 1973 Rotterdam version of Brown Sugar is a hundred times better than the album version, which I hate!

P-Funk was one of my first concerts. March 1979, IIRC. Flash Light was the encore.

nelly furtado's new spanish stuff, all of which is awesome. was a fan back during her debut and second album, loose kind of alienated me a bit. I liked some of the fun tracks from loose, but most of my favorites ended up b-sides in favor of timbaland's stuff (whom I despise). everytime I read about timbaland working with an artist I like I just cringe (bjork, utada, nelly furtado...) I'm happy she is back to her roots and releasing some really fun, hip, spicy music. she sounds a million times better in spanish, too!
