Paparazzi - Lady GaGa
my boyfriend put the whole album on my computer when I just asked for Poker Face. D: So now I'm slowly beginning to really like her.

SR has certainly made me very aware of the sounds that come through my ears, but her recent offerings fail to do that anymore... hmm. Have you been keeping up with GP's show these days? He played The Raah Project recently and I love their soulful hiphop nu-jazz sound. They're from Melbourne!

btw: 7:52 "will you be there" is awesome.
I caught the Mayer Hawthorne one (spelling, I can't Google atm for some reason!) which was lovely classic-sounding soul and I think he did one with Dobie whose Sound of One Hand Clapping album I listened to a lot a few years back. I know with GP I'm going to like everything and now and then find someone I love.

The Raah Project sampler was verry good, 7:52 "Will you be there" did hit the spot. I'm also into 5:00 "Jazz Bar 2020" - you can't go wrong with me, Rhodes pianos, breakbeat and discordant harmonies (the violin may not be everyone's cup of tea tho)...!

I much prefer SR's earlier stuff too and if I feel I know what I'm talking about I might post something in the Chord Progressions thread, but there are some things I'm into post-Dynamite Out . I like her twilight lament, fixing her make-up secretly before the setting sun...

@Shinji: I guess you could call them Theory of Relativity (saw jigenbakuda's thread too)... I liked that track a lot! I've no idea where they got the idea of nurses that smoke.

Crickets Sing for Anamaria

Tell me this isn't the best song you've ever heard and I'll box your ears! I'll figure out a way to do it via internet... somehow. >.>;

^ I'm a big fan of Astrud Gilberto. However that's just the tip of the iceberg of awesome brazilian music... right now you might be in the mood for this too...

CLT: Shiina Ringo - Shun

This is such an emotive song, really. Her voice is amazing.
I actually think it fits better with "Ariamaru Tomi" than "SG", to be honest.
