Competent performances, and a few 'neat moments', but they didn't turn any of the songs inside out as they've done in the past. OK -- maybe it's a little better than Spa and Treatment as a show but I'd find more reason to return to S&T than this if I were compiling Tokyo Collection.

Okay, I'm forming the suspicion that post-Adult Tokyo Jihen has been trying to be more like Phase 1 - not in the sense that the current roster actually dared to attempt performing any material from Phase 1 (Gunjou Biyori was surprisingly good though), but in that they preemptively master their own skill at playing specifically their latest songs - BEFORE we even hear STUDIO versions of the material.

I mean, Phase 1 was probably already prepared for Dynamite Out before they released Kyoiku. THAT'S what I mean. ANYTHING they do in studio, is something they're already prepared to perform live. The studio recordings we've been hearing lately, weren't the band getting lucky amidst many outtakes.

That's where the consistency is coming from.

I liked most of the concert, but Ukigumo lacked pizzazz during Karisome Otome - a particularly noticeable failed substitution void when not much attention is drawn away by Izawa living up to Josei's all-time weakest keyboarding (in the original DEATH JAZZ version).

Oh yeah, and Kameda never overstayed his welcome - except maybe in OSCA. His mini-solos throughout the concert were a delight.

You know, it really seemed like Kameda was the only one who wanted to be there. Just watch Sora ga Natteiru. It was an absolutely abysmal performance that lacked any kind of energy. Kameda looks like he's trying while everybody looks like they wished they were anywhere else in the world.

I feel like I can recycle all the comments I made before the release since it seems like it wasn't just an off-night then.
