Number Girl
I'm sure many of you know of them, and forgive me if there is already a thread on them. And even though this is a Shiina Ringo Forum, I believe you can't talk about Japanese Rock without bringing up Number Girl. It's too bad that Ahito Inazawa left Zazen Boys too. The combo between him and Shutoku Mukai was awesome.
and Ahito Inazawa (the drummer of Number Girl for those that don't know) is a freaking maniac, I love that guy. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=x-R4qK...eature=related

There's been discussion before, but not exactly a dedicated topic for how much Number Girl rocks.

Hahah, I'm glad someone started this! I would have, but I have a tendency to not shut up about whatever I like this month, so I didnt post in effort to curtail that.
Uki out, Tabuchi in, i say.

i agree Hisako Tabuchi>>>>>Ukigumo.
btw sometimes I wish I was in Japan at the start of the century, SR was at her best and Number Girl were still around, what a badass era in the Japanese rock scene.

this bares repeating:
Shes not particularly a looker, but you can't deny shes not totally sexy when shes supa shreddin. Uki is supposed to be renown for the "sounds" he makes on his guitar (well,i can only assume thats what for since it cant be for orthodox methods of guitar playing.) Well, Tabuchi is like disciple #1 of noise rock, so.

^ That made me lol so bad.
I won't say I'm a big Number Girl fan, though I do love some of their music (favorite songs: Destruction Baby and Num Heavymetallic)...I looked through some of the members other bands and the only one that really caught my interest was Vola and the Oriental Machine (Zazen Boys makes the kind of music I can respect but really wouldn't hear again) largely b/c it's so amazing how multitalented Inazawa is to start being a drummer and then become a pretty good guitarist and vocalist (compared to Tabuchi at least....I mean she's an awesome guitarist but singing is not the only way to be the leader of a band)

I love the song Frustration In My Blood. My fave from them. Number Girl is possibly the only band I enjoy even though I can't make out what Mukai is saying most of the time. Rarely can I even pick out a single word.
