This 'about' section makes her sound pretty good, and the real deal.

I like Sentaku no Asa the best, and Miss Rock n Roll is growing on me too despite not being too impressed w/the first listen. But yeah, my first impression was also that she seemed to be trying waaaayyy to hard to convey some angsty rock chick persona or something, but that feeling´s passing the more I listen to her stuff. I like what I´ve heard so far.

Agree with the first part but not the last....

I think it's better to listen to her music only...Don't watch. Not that she's ugly or there is something wrong with showing off the I-ROCK-I-HOT attitude

(actually there WAS but since the number of talents trying to look that way are increasing, it becomes very insignificant...thinking about it in the next 10 years, maybe singers/musicians will then be criticized for cloning Jazz-chick style from Norah Jones...or maybe in the next 100 years..Opera-chick will be something trendy like Rock-chick nowadays...if only Opera and Jazz were that easy to master...Never mind my random thought...)

Better still, listen to AYA with your eyes close..I find her of much more depth with her voice only

thank you sooooo much for posting this.

it is very rare that I find music I really connect with, but now I feel like I have stumbled upon a great artist and I look foward to hearing more of her music!

I only shake my head and wonder what happened to her, I know she released a song for that anime Le Chevalier D'eon, but no single release with it? 3 years is a long break, I wonder if she had a kid maybe...

I think Shiina needs a break as long as 3 years (and maybe a trip abroad) to clarify her current confusions on music. ([spasm]And come back for KZK II [/spasm])

Sorry to bump an old topic! But I think the video is fine, although to refer to herself as Miss Rock & Roll is lame. I found some songs on YT by her. Here are two of my favorites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B9tAKdI4zs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWKdErTHC6M

Anyway, I think that someone posted her entire album or something, so I would go check out more if you haven't already done so. Also, since I posted this topic, I think the only new thing she's done is this anime song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9dvt4-N0OM
Pretty nicee.

Blue Butterfly is a strong song. She can sing, no question about it.

I want to hear more.
