Albums you're looking forward to in 2014
Happy New Year everyone!
2013 had been a great year for music, I hope this year the trend continues. Let me start by listing a few kitsch pop albums I would like to hear: Albums: AKB48 - 次の足跡 (Jan 22) V.A. - "Sailor Moon" The 20th Anniversary Memorial Tribute (Jan 29) Babymetal - Titled To Be Announced (Feb 26) Singles: Amuro Namie - TSUKI (Jan 29) Morning Musume - Egao no Kimi wa Taiyo sa (Jan 29) Itano Tomomi - Little (Feb 5) What albums are you looking forward to? |

I expect 2014 to be slower for me due to a lot of my favorite bands already putting out albums in 2013. Here's hoping for some more great, undiscovered talent popping up in 2014!

Forgot about new Tool. I think I remember reading something was going to definitely happen with the album this year. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...-2014-20130716 We'll see if this holds true. Tool are the kings of procrastination when it comes to albums. |

I don't keep close to the pulse of any singular artist to know when to expect anything. So I'm gonna list some artists I think are due.
Alt-J, no album grew on me like An Awesome Wave. Maybe this years too soon, but definitely want to hear where they go next. Kendrick Lamar, maybe he hasn't had time. I think Hospitality is supposed to have a record this year. I know the lady from Wye Oak released an indie pop record last year I didn't think much of, but i'd like a new Wye Oak album if possible. Ooh Dope Body! Need some new Dope Body. Aside from Mikal Cronin, Chris Cohen is one of indie's best songwriters. Definitely eager to hear his follow up. I am ready for a new Beth Jeans Houghton plox. Optimistic for the new St. Vincent. Maybe a new Andrew Jackson Jihad?

I dunno... Oomori released two great albums in one year in 2013 (Plus another full length studio album with Lai Lai Lai Team, plus a strew of other releases and collabs.) I didn't mean straight away. Maybe mid 2014. I don't think it would be too soon for her. As for Ringo, surely she's gotta be sitting on something by now. If not an album, at least the 15th anniversary show on Blu Ray?

Pixies EP 2 dropped. More of the same as EP-1, though I don't think I'm hating on it as much as before. No expectations means no disappointment I guess. It should still be under Frank Black's name though.

I'm actually expecting a release from La La Larks this year. (Yumi from School Food Punishment, Turkey from Go!Go!7188, bassist from Stereo of Fabrication and the guitarist from The Youth)
As far as I know they've been together since 2011 with no official releases except for some demoes. I check their Twitter occasionally and it seems like they play a lot of shows. Strange they would have no official release at this point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kEZYnqOIc8 (seriously, how do you embed YT videos? I tried everything and none of it works) |

Wow, I really like that song, it's kind of jazzy/lounge but also poppy and goddamit Turkey you da man.
To embed youtube, you need to go to "Advanced reply/Go Advanced", copy the string of number and letters AFTER https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=, highlight it, and then click the little YouTube button. it should look like: [ yt = " " ] string of numbers [ / y t ] without the spaces, this will embed it in the post, whatever you put between the two quotation marks becomes the title of the embedded video
