I become sceptical about my own musical tastes when I hear songs I love
You know "shuukyou"? in a french band, there is a so "look-liking" song (click here). (just when the verse) This band surely don't know Ringo at all, but, this prove music can how much be the same. It's not the first time i realize two songs of two artists are created with almost the same music. But this times, theses two songs I am fond of, that are so much similar. I can ask myself about my supposed ecclectism. It's maybe useless to write it there, but i didn't want create a new topic just for this reflexion. |

With the amount of pages in this thread, it has become very useful to get some recommendations. I more or less know which EMF members have similar musical taste to me, so there's plenty of pages to look for new music.

Asobi Seksu - Hush (album)
Disappointed is a word that I had to use far too often in 2008. This album is not a good sign for 2009. Where are the gorgeous melodies? The guitarwork that aims for the heavens? Nothing here can rival anything on Citrus, an album that was also much more cohesive. I wasn't even going into the album with high expectations, I just wanted one or two songs that I could cling to for awhile. Sigh...

I've heard it around 4 times.
I thought that it might be a "grower" after the first listen, but by the third and fourth listen it was clear that this is a ho-hum album. James Hanna is far too restrained on this album. The clash of his guitar is one of the reasons why Citrus was so great. Citrus was a grower, in that it grew more awesome with time. I wasn't even paying attention when I first heard the album. It was on while I was studying for an arts exam. After four songs I took off the phones and asked myself "did something awesome just happen?" even though I couldn't recall what I had heard.
