lol Uncharted is way overrated. The platforming/exploration sucks and it's too much of a 3rd person shooter to be compared to Tomb Raider.

Are you honestly saying that the modern day Tomb Raider games are that much better? They are not bad, but I put Uncharted in another league entirely to them. I agree with you that Uncharted does feature too much shooting and not enough platforming, but at the time I was only an hour into it and the first hour contains a lot of platforming. Either way, I find it superior to the likes of Tomb Raider: Underworld. The graphics are a million times better, the characters are much more fun (I cannot take Lara seriously at all, nor any of her story) and the shooting and platforming are ultimately better presented and played, even if the time spent doing each should be switched. I found Uncharted really refreshing.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is the best game in its genre and I haven't plyed Underworld due to a lack of funds. Long live the grab button.

Have you finished Uncharted? My favorite part is when they discover the hidden area and are all like, "Holy shiz, mang! We found it and the enemy has no idea it exists!" and are then attacked by enemies already inside.

I just honestly can't take Tomb Raider seriously anymore. The mythology is a mess, the character is even worse and the gameplay... well, that isn't bad anymore, but it feels really generic when intertwined with Tomb Raiders terribly typical settings, story and character acting. Uncharted felt fresh to me due to the characters, their sense of humour and the decent controls. I know it suffered from too much action, possible as a side-effect of going up against Gears of War. Maybe they'll see sense in the sequel and make it just as much a platformer. Either way, it will be one of the best looking games this generation and I'm really looking forward to it. I can't say the same about the next Tomb Raider. I'll probably play the demo and think "This is nice, but... meh". The whole franchise just shouts "So what" to me now.

See, I don't have that problem because my prior experience with the TR games was 1-3. I never played the tired sequels or saw the movies. I got out while it was still good and got back in when it became good again.

But even when it became good again, they're still using the same tired character, tombs and gameplay, even if the mechanics have been refined and it is genuinely playable again. There isn't anything wrong with the new Tomb Raider games in terms of gameplay, but there is nothing inviting about the world to me. I don't feel like I want to play at all. I wouldn't say Uncharted is original or anything, but the humour and the design made me want to carry on playing, something TR: Underworld didn't do (based on the demo). But maybe I'm just terribly sick of the character after all of the games and the movies, like you say.

Let's talk about something we agree is awesome like Rock Band again. Where the fuck is my Texas Flood at? Quit releasing horrible DLC and get to SRV. I need me some Rude Mood and Testify. I'd also like some more Smashing Pumpkins. Tonight, Tonight and 1979 would be great.

Actually yeah, Texas Flood is late. If you want a decent drumming song from the latest release though, I Wanna Be Your Man is great.

Psh, I wish. I can't play drums at all. My friend and I tried Drum Mania at the Taito arcade in Osaka and failed massively. And then we felt even worse when the guy playing Guitar Freaks next to us completely beasted notes we could barely read let alone react to.

just traded in NBA 2k9, Fight Night, and Bully for Rock Band 2. I hate my old drums so much, can't stand them after having tried the new set for a week.

Drum trainer is a bit disappointing, not as helpful as I imagined. I've always thought they should deduct percentage marks when you hit extra notes in practice.

Edit- And they need to work faster throwing out songs dammit. a couple of songs every week is not nearly enough.
