New Jihen single 12.02.09

zarya doesn't subscribe to ringohan newsletter before, I already e-mailed to ask directly.

I followed up on some links. the bit posted about the hiatus simply says that izawa played with them on tour. someone posted in their blog that today they got an e-mail from ringohan with breaking news that jihen is releasing the new single on 12.02, they are currently working on their new album, and next spring will go on a large tour.

I guess we will hear news about this next week if scribble is right.

edit: at this point this isn't a rumor anymore, Jihen is releasing a new single 12.02 titled 能動的三分間 (noudouteki sanbunkan) and they are working on their next album with plans for its release and a tour early next year.

Woah, I know the first character from Chinese (it's like, nung, maybe? to be able or something.. I forget. ^^; ) but I've never seen it in Japanese. It looks weird. ^^;

Actually, if 三分 refers to a period of three minutes and not its other definition of 'division into three parts', and I think it is 3 minutes because of the 'kan' afterwards, then this is sanPunkan not sanbunkan. Thanks rikaichan! Sanbun = three parts, sanpun = three minutes.

mizer, the nou is the same character as in 本能, it is also the same character as in Noh theatre, it generally means function or talent.

frecklegirl, regarding the title, it could definitely go either way. to me there are two very distinct meanings here. if it is referring to minutes, the kan is referring to time, and it would connote an active span of 3 minutes. if it is correlating to sanbun, as in three parts, the kan would denote the meaning of space. so the meaning either refers to three active minutes or to three active but separate pieces. I'd say the title is probably self-referencial, so either the title is referring to the actual song in length and activity (kind of like Killer Tune had a title referring to itself) or it is referring to three separate active groups within. probably minutes like you said.

All that the rumors and factual news boils down to is that Tokyo Jihen still has the same people in it.

looks like the 4th album is coming in February or late January depending if there will be a 2nd single. Thats alot of time!
